A fun challenge for April @faunwood with @get_repost ・・・ ✧ A P R I L ◦ C O L O R S ✧ —————— it’s. that. dang. time. I’m still working on updating the page on my website, but I wanted to post the prompts early so folks can prepare if they want to participate!! I’m really REALLY going to try to complete it this year, but this is also like the third year in a row I’ve said that, so WE’LL SEE. :’> You can follow hashtags on IG, so if you plan to participate, please follow so you can support fellow artists and maybe even get inspired! I want to use my platform to share the work of lots of artists, so I’ll also be following the hashtag and sharing folks’ work in an April Colors story highlight (and occasionally in posts, similar to last year). Feel free to ask any questions you have here and I’ll do my best to respond. ♡ Also! Anecdotally (and probably also in actuality), Instagram HATES full text posts so I don’t expect this one to be seen by all of the lovely humans (and humanoid mists) that follow my account, so feel free to share or repost the prompts, esp if you want to let people know you’ll be participating! Aaaand I think that’s it! Woo! ✨🐛✨ ——— !!

Poem using questions only (prompt) - 29 April 2026.
Questions I let slide under my chaotic mind
What was it when I first saw it? - a feeling or a choice?
Where was my heart? - on that sinking ship?
Did Rose fall for Jack the same way?
Did her soul tell her this is the best you can?
Who was that guy anyway? - A mountain that looks pretty from afar or a fleeting tent that seemed like home?
When did I first realize another cage-like situation? - was it relieving or were you trapped in my complications yet again?
Which of those colours exactly attracted me? - Was it a cold scheme or did I illude a warm undertone?
Why did it hold power to rule my mind even after it was gone? - Did I play tricks on my brain or did the universe play tricks on me?
How did I manage to handle it and manifest that into a possibility? It's my life now?
Did you know it back then? Could you have done it in May?
What was it that motivated you? - an obligation or passion?
Where was your brain? - on that short-lived ecstasy?
Is this how you make tiny mistakes and suffer huge obstacles?
Don't you think, sometimes, living for the future is better?
Who were you those days anyway? - A mindless wanderer trying something she always wanted to or a foolish woman who risked her next year?
When did you find yourself stuck at a barren island? - did that guilt come pouring in after the act or were you filled with regrets from the very start?
Which demons could you have possibly cursed? - The ones inside of you?
Why were you so out of line when for most of your life you called yourself a straight car that never crosses the pavement markings?
How did you manage to come out of it and manifest that into a possibility? It's your life now?
Did you know it back then? Could you have done it in May?
‘Stay at home’ . I’m joining @illo.dee @fruitcakeink @thatvoiddesign @tama.novie @visual_artist.d @plinadraws @mymcdoodles @by_annaj and @_debyvi_ with the monthly challenge to draw one specific theme. April's theme will be ‘Stay at Home’. In some of the countries there are total lockdowns, while other countries have limited restrictions. Where I am my workplace has closed down, but I have the ability to work from home. When I have to stay at home, I try to bring the outdoors in (using real plants, lights, art etc.) and let my imagination wander in order to stay comfortable and have a safe space for me to be myself. What does it mean to you that you have to stay home? What helps you to get your mind off things? . . Will you join us? If you upload a photo with the hashtag #stayathomeApril2020 we can find your upload. I’d be happy to share your post. Excited to see more artwork from y'all ! . Keep on going, even if you are in an isolation. Do things that make you happy. Draw, exercise, meditate, play online games, garden, clean, go outside for short periods of time, and stay connected with your family and friends. Keep your physical distance but keep socially connected, and most of all take care of yourself. . Please scroll to see the other artworks for this challenge. Every artist is tagged on their artwork, go check them out! . . . . . #art #illustration #aprilprompt #digitalart #imagination #artistsoninstagram #stayhome #drawingprompt #drawingchallenge #misttox #misttoxart https://www.instagram.com/p/B-ca9aflzzN/?igshid=1vgiuz4whj7gn
The harsh blaring of Alessandra's alarm elicited a groan as she rolled over, arm slapping haphazardly until it hit her alarm clock, finally silencing the incessant beeping. About to roll back over and not even entertain the thought of getting up, a deep, hoarse chuckle came from the doorway of Alessa's bedroom. Opening one eye, a smirk rolled across Alessa's features as the chuckler came into focus. Groaning again, Alessa stretched, arching her back and holding out her arms, beckoning the man over, still refusing to leave her warm bed. Another chuckle emitted from the man, but he strolled over anyway, climbing onto the bed and wrapping Alessa in a strong embrace.
Burrowing into the crook of his neck, Alessa sighed, breathing in scent; spicy, but at the same time a little musty. She'd grown to love it and miss it when he wasn't around, something Alessa hadn't been prepared for, but welcomed whole heartedly.
“You have to get eventually, you know? You have meetings.” His voice was muffled as he spoke into Alessa's hair, pressing his lips to the top of her head afterwards. Another groan rumbled throughout Alessa's chest.
“I'd much rather stay here. Tara can handle the movie deal for me. She always pushes for more than I ever would anyway.” Alessa nuzzled his neck again, her lips ghosting along his neck, this time causing a groan on his end.
“Come on, 'Less. Up!” And with that, Alessa was being scooped up from her bed, causing her to squeal girlishly and cling to the man's neck.
“Aaron! Put me dooown!!” Alessa half whined, half giggled. But he didn't comply, at least, not until he brought her to the bathroom, setting her down in the bathtub and stepping away.
“Now. You shower, get ready, do your whole writer thing and then you have all night to come back and spend time with me. And don't forget about dinner tonight. You have to be there. Seriously. Don't forget!!” And then he was gone, out to meetings of his own.
Sighing, Alessa shook her head, still smiling as she started to get ready. She'd found the ring weeks ago. He'd asked her to grab a pair of dress socks from his dresser and she'd stumbled upon a little, teal box with the Tiffany's emblem across the top. It was simple, one medium sized diamond accompanied by two smaller ones on either side of it. She hadn't been expecting it, but what surprised her more were the tears that had gathered in her eyes from happiness. Aaron was everything she'd never imagined she wanted, which just made him that much more perfect.
But now wasn't the time to make wedding plans, it was time to make her book into a movie. As Alessa hailed a cab, the idea made her stomach turn from excitement. Never had she imagined her dreams of becoming a writer to come true, but getting one of her books, let alone her autobiography, made into a movie? That had never even been on her radar.
Yet, here she was, walking into the lobby of her publisher's building, waving perkily at the receptionist, on her way to finalize the deal.
“Third floor, room 315. Good luck, Miss. Tosto!” The receptionist chirped happily, as Alessa walked by.
Cracking her knuckles as she entered the elevator, Alessa tried to calm her nerves. This was huge, not only for her, but for her family as well. Her parents had inevitably split and Alessa had mended her relationship with her mother, but she and her father were still estranged, though not for lack of effort on Alessa's part. The book had stirred up some serious controversy, and surely the movie would do the same, but in Alessa's mind, it was worth it. She needed to get her story out there.
Running her hands over her skirt, the elevator dinged and opened to the third floor, Tara standing just outside of it. Stepping out, Alessa grinned at the tall blonde that looked more like a European super model than a ball busting manager, but that was one of them many reasons Alessa liked the girl.
“You ready, Pipsqueak? Let's make movie magic happen!” Tara waggled her eyebrows excitedly as Alessa rolled her eyes at the nickname, though unable to scold her.
Entering the conference room, Alessa saw her book on the center of the table and felt her heart palpitate from excitement. It wasn't long before a large group of men and women in business suits, along with a slightly disheveled, yet still put together man with wire-rimmed glasses filed into the room, taking their seats at the table, allowing Alessa to follow suit.
“Miss. Tosto, I just want to start by saying how incredible your book was. It was inspiring, heart-felt, and absolutely heart breaking. I loved it.”
Alessa chuckled, shaking her head bashfully, “Please, call me Alessa. And...thank you. So much. It took a lot to finally get the book to where it is now, but...I'm beyond pleased with it. I couldn't have done it without my amazing team.” Grinning, Alessa grabbed Tara's hand and squeezed, letting her know it was time to get the business side of it started.
“She's too modest!” Tara commented quickly before launching into her manager mode, haggling and compromising the rights of the book and just how much say in the process Alessa would play in the making of the film. It didn't take Tara long to make sure Alessa had at least a little hand in every part of the process, including being on set while the actual filming happened.
Tara was on her little manager high as they left the room and Alessa was just happy this was all happening. It'd taken so much to get to this point; to finally be happy. Wrapping Tara in a hug, Alessa told her she had to get going. Big date night with the man tonight.
At the mention of Aaron, Tara squealed, “Ohhhh my god. I can't believe you're getting enGAGED! Ugh. I'm so jealous of your life. Go! Go! Get more beautiful for your future hubby!!”
Alessa didn't show it, but she was equally excited. And, for the first time in her life, Alessa agreed. Her life was awesome. Blowing Tara a kiss, Alessa wiggled her fingers in a goodbye and headed back into the elevator and grinned to herself. Yeah, the rest of her life was starting to look pretty damn good...
