VAV- Under the Moonlight
Alright the first time I watched the video I was very confused as to the theme- which is obviously supernatural. With all the coffins I assumed vampires, but then there was that wolf scene so it confused me. Werewolves and vampires cannot be used together in a video!
However I went to their official facebook and learned about their comic, which sort of explained everything. Sort of. It explained the debit song and some of the supernatural things but it didn’t claify everything.
I still like the video, even though it’s a jumbled mess of supernatural sources. It’s dark and mysterious, great video. The song though? For people like me who didn’t know about the group before hand, didn’t know about the comic, it didn’t work well. It’s not a strong debut. Don’t get me wrong, I like the song. I feel with all of the great debuts this year that VAV will be shoved under the bus because they didn’t have a strong debut song.
Last thing: What does VAV stand for? I read a YouTube comment that it stands for Very Awesome Vampire…. Please tell me that it doesn’t. If it does, they can NEVER deviate from that. They will be stuck with supernatural concepts which may not fit the group as they develop. If the name does stand to Very Awesome Vampire, then the two members who’s alter ego isn’t a vampire (one is a priest, the other a werewolf in their comic) won’t fit with the group name. A priest normally doesn’t hang with the vamps, ditto with the wolves. A lone wolf doesn’t survive on his own for long. He needs a pack.
