i'm lowkey having a lot of chitto and aquena brainrot rn so here's some crumbs of them
oh and here's the post that explains who they are in case anyone forgot (wouldn't blame y'all 😭, last time i drew them was back in september); kinda changed aquenas hair a bit but it's very subtle
also last drawing was inspired by the i love my wife meme :]
90% of the time, as you'll usually see from my art, her hair is in a side braid that just touches the end of her calves; but whenever her hair is completely down, it goes past her ankles to the point where it drags on the ground.
she's never really seen with her hair completely down by the villagers, only having it like that whenever she's around her family or is washing it; however, on rare occasions it would just be down casually, though she has to make sure she doesn't get anything stuck in it or accidentally trip on it (it's happened like 4 times).
anywho she's always treating it with care, always brushing it in the morning and at night, with the help of chitto offering at times as he absolutely loved her hair. in fact, her hair was actually the first thing he fell in love with when they were kids :]
I was gonna say, "draw him based on the proportions of Baby Tarzan as a starting point" for bebe Kenai. He was probably a small yet chunky bebe
omfg i suck at drawing babies and this was hella rushed, and this looks nothing like baby tarzan, but the thought of baby kenai was just way too cute to not draw. and YES I BELIEVE HE'D BE A CHONKY BABY

explaination for the second pic: i had a headcanon that everyone was so overprotective of kenai because not only he was the baby of the family, but because during her third trimester, his mother had complications with her pregnancy, which caused her to get very ill; and during labor she and him almost died. but she managed to pull through and was okay in the end :] tho she needed to stay on bed rest for a few weeks afterwards.
when Chitto found out the baby and Aquena were okay, he SOBBED, relieved his wife and newborn son were okay. see although Chitto was a very huge, intimidating tuff guy, he was a big softy and a crybaby sometimes (he cried when proposing to Aquena, during their wedding, their other sons birth, etc. he was an emotional fella lol)
anywho, kenai was overall a healthy, fat baby :] he was also a very vocal baby, always screaming for milk or for someone to carry him lol. he's also 6 months old in the first drawing! :]

these take place a year before they passed, and yes i still haven't figured out what from yet; in fact i still to work on their lore, but i WILL get it done tho just give me time. (here's my previous post where i gave them some details in case you haven't seen it :D)
for the first drawing, i had the idea that because of his age, Kenai was never really able to go hunting or practice using a spear with his dad and brothers; so this led to him being with Aquena all the time, helping her with chores or just being around her in general, which made them have a very close and special bond :]
for the second drawing, it's just plain and simple, Chitto teaching Sitka how to use a spear, with Denahi whining in the corner wanting to go home lol. also ik Chitto's beard looks sightly different, i'm just trying to experiment with new looks
+ side note i really like the idea that Sitka used to wear his hair completely down when he was younger and it was very long, but then when his parent's passed, he cut it short due to grief; but then as he got older and it grew more, he started wearing it the same hairstyle as Chitto to honor him :']
and then as for the brother's age's here, Kenai is 5, Denahi is 9, and Sitka is 16 :)
anywho i think the next drawing i'm gonna make will be all of them together like for a family photo type stuff 🥹✌🏽❤️🩹
alright y'all asked so here they are, the parents of the 3 brothers: Chitto and Aquena :]
Chitto is pronounced Shee-tu and Aquena is pronounced Ah-keen-uh

origin + design: i made them when i was 15 (realized i drew them back in 2022 i think), but i just decided to redesign them a little. i didn't change much for Chitto, but i changed Aquena's hairstyle because i thought she'd be pretty with a long side braid and a short ponytail on the left side of her face, having hairpieces with the colors representing her babies; she originally just had her hair completely down and it was slightly shorter.
personalities: Chitto was an intimidating looking man but was actually just a giant teddy bear. he loved his wife and kids to the moon and back. Aquena was as sweet as a flower and had a loving personality, she never harmed a fly; but if her babies were in any sort of danger, she WILL go into mama bear mode TRUST.
names: back then i just looked up indigenous names and picked two that i really liked and thought would fit lol. but looking up the meaning of their names most recently (yesterday lmao), Chitto mean brave and Aquena I THINK means peace and balance.
looks comparing to their children: Kenai looks like Aquena, Denahi looks like Chitto, and Sitka is a mixture of both (slightly leaning more towards Chitto).
relationship towards their children: it was very precious and loving :] they absolutely adored their boys and would do anything for them. i saw a headcanon that they were probably abusive and neglectful towards them and that's why they weren't present but um, imma just ignore that and say that they were actually the most loving parents (also @aeonilua informed me that inuit parents probably have one of the best parenting practices).
status: they're dead. i'm not sure what from yet (it definitely wasn't from a bear attack though), but yeah they're gone. they died when Kenai was about 6, and although he doesn't remember how it happened, the village and the brothers were completely devastated because of how beloved they were. in fact, Sitka couldn't even look directly at Kenai for several weeks straight because of how similar he looks to Aquena. i'm sorry-
lore: now back then when i was trying to give them lore, Chitto was actually the chief of their village, being a leader alongside Aquena, but.. i'm not really sure if i should keep it like that 😭 i guess i gave them that title since i don't think there was actually a chief present in the movie. same with their totems, i'm not sure what they would have. i DID think that Aquena would have a bear and Chitto could be a wolf, but idk. i gotta think about it more lol
