For those of you who don't like Ink Lemonade because drinking Squidward's ink is gross, allow me to introduce you to this sandwich
This is called the Kuro burger. It's a popular black sandwich sold at a fast food franchise in Japan. The bun and cheese is dyed black with a natural and edible additive called bamboo charcoal. And the sauce is also edible even with it's natural additive, squid ink.
That's right, there's a sauce out there called spicy squid ink sauce. It's exactly what you think it is, and people in Japan love it.
So this may make you see Ink Lemonade be a little less gross, or you could be more grossed out by it. But, I thought this fact needed addressing, as maybe this is what inspired Ink Lemonade. And, maybe that's why the patrons liked it before they knew what it was, it was such a bold and spicy flavor.
Tell me what you think of this reveal, if you think the writers knew of squid ink sauce before ink lemonade, and if you would actually try it. Me personally, I would try it if it wasn't too spicy. No the squid ink actually doesn't turn me off, but with my gastritis I can't have anything too spicy. Maybe one day they'll make a mild squid ink sauce and I'll give it a taste, as well as ship a bottle to Gavin Lee as I'm kind of mischievous like that.
