Avion de transport Arado Ar 232
Arado Ar 232 Tausendfußler (Millipede). Vastly superior to the Ju 52/3m in every way, it was the best medium cargo aircraft of the war. However it was produced in too small numbers to have an effect. Location and date unknown. For more, see my Facebook group - Eagles of the Reich
5 September 1944. Start of Operation Zeppelin, an unsuccessful German attempt to assassinate Stalin. A task force flew an Arado Ar232B-0 transport from near Riga in Latvia to a point near Moscow where it collided with a tree landing at night.

Arado Ar 232 tactical transport (never known as the Tausendfuessler btw) was designed for robustness and an ability to operate from rough terrain. Would the war have turned out differently if the Germans had built more than ~20?
