Exclusive album stream: AR Ferdinand - Wild Fiction
Having been seduced by AR Ferdinand’s recent single ‘Sexy’, we were excited to see what else the El Salvador artist has in his locker. Well now we know, thanks to the imminent release of AR Ferdinand’s debut album Wild Fiction – and we’re going to let you lot have a sneak preview too.
Wild Fiction is an immaculately produced record full of palatable pop creations. It features a dizzying array of guest artists, from Californian artists Axel Mansoor, Harriet Brown and Safari Al to Ohio rapper A.J. Crew, as well as long-time collaborator and sometime co-producer Josh Oleo. Yet the album always remains cohesive and upbeat, helped by the fact that AR Ferdinand plays the roles of producer, composer, mixer and mastering engineer throughout.
‘Wild Fiction represents the three years of my life that I spent writing it’, AR Ferdinand (real name Fernando Arroyo) explains. ‘It was mostly rough times but the music got me through it. I’m pretty scared for people to listen to it, all that work. I want audiences to feel the ambience I wanted to create, combining stuff from all over the place to create a pleasing and relaxing experience. What makes me not be scared anymore is that I strive to create music I love. I love this album so much and I hope many people do too.’
