If it crawls it bites 🕸️🕷️ Arachnophobia 1990 After a nature photographer dies on assignment in Venezuela, a poisonous spider hitches a ride in his coffin to his hometown in rural California, where arachnophobe Dr. Ross Jennings (Jeff Daniels) has just moved with his family. As town residents start turning up dead, Jennings begins to suspect spiders, and must face his fears as he and no-nonsense exterminator Delbert McClintock (John Goodman) fight to stop a deadly infestation. Easily regarded as one of the better entitled B movie Horrors, what makes Arachnophobia work well is that the humor doesn't overshadow the horror, making for a sublime creature feature, filled with tension-laden web full of some solid scares and also well-timed wit in what is virtually a version of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, only with eight legs. With strong performances, throughout its cast, especially with John Goodman who is an absolute hoot, and can tell is enjoying his time on set, by playing the one man army pest exterminator 😎🤣 But again the comedy doesn't over turn the seriousness of the film in regards to exploring the phobia and the inner strength to over come it.
