Arachnosaur
[earth-65M's Peter Parker]
Across the Spiderverse motivated me to redesign some of my old spidersonas. This is dr. Irwin "Trike" Brown aka Arachnosaur with his microraptor companion Peacock. He's both a palaeontologist and well-known dinosaur expert, and the first person with spider powers his home dimension earth-65M has ever seen. About a decade ago he and his back then good friend Norman Osborn discovered the first Palaeozone, a phenomenon caused by interdimensional events that creates big spaces that work like bubble dimensions with entrances on the surface of earth-65M. In these spaces time works differently so they represent different time periods of earth-65M. The Palaeozone Trike and Osborn found represents the mesozoic and because the spider that gave Trike his powers was mutated by background radiation from that place, Arachnosaur has the ability to transform into a variety of mesozoic reptiles in addition to the typical spider powers.
evil!Arachnosaur AU
This is old art I never posted. The idea is that in this world, instead of Trike, Norman Osborn was bitten by the palaeozone spider and Trike never became Arachnosaur. Lacking maintimeline!Trike's connection to dinosaurs, a near-death-experience caused by an encounter with a dinosaur makes him less sympathetic towards dinosaurs and more scared of them while also impressed by their strength. Eventually this leads him down a path of unethical experiments causing him to be ostracised by the scientific community. So he instead uses the power of capitalism and animal abuse to get the respect he "deserves".
Art Fight: Movie Spiders
I wanted to draw these two together since the beginning of this season. They fit so well together both visually and thematically. Since Arachnosur is defenitely inspired by Jurassic Park and Hard-Bitten Spider is based on characters like Indiana Jones I tried to make it look somewhat like a movie poster.
The character on the left is Arachnosaur by me
The character on the right is Hard-Bitten Spider by kingscards (deviantART: @kingscards)
Arachnosaur Dino Forms
I took a two day break from ArtFight to draw my spidersona and create some visual refs for his powers
