Ignis’s senses and skin fizzled at her touch. She was one of a few people he didn’t mind touching his scars, her touch was welcome even. Her words drew a chuckle from him, and he brought one had from her waist up to touch her neck, then cup her jaw.

The shape of her face was as familiar to him as his own. A smile touched his lips. “Yes... I’m glad you’ve survived, as well. Gods, but I have missed you...”

Once more he kissed her, soft and greedy.

Can I just say that I ADORE your au with Nif Prince Prompto and Aranea? Though I wonder, how long is that hired job for Aranea to be with Prompto supposed to last?

AH! thank you so much! I love when I get asks for au’s. Sorry for the late reply I’ve been out of the country.

I think the hired bit of the job was probably over as soon as Prompto was settled in Lucis and they were sure that no one had followed them. But after that Aranea kept checking up on him, pretending she was only there to make sure the kid didn’t mess everything up and get her found out as helping him. But she genuinely likes Prompto, they probably spent a few months running from the empire to get him to the Insomnian safe house and they grew close.

Ignis couldn’t say he was SURPRISED at her reaction. He knew she would be mad at him, and he probably deserved that. But on the other hand, he had felt like talking to her about it was the only thing he could do, because Prompto and Gladio would overreact in another way. They would worry too much, and that wasn’t what Ignis needed right now. 

“Aranea, I... I know I was lucky. But I couldn’t do otherwise, and I would have died to protect Noct. He’s not only my king, he’s my brother.” Yes, he had repeated the words Cid had used the day they left for Altissia. But he had always felt that way about Noct, and he was glad someone had put that feeling into words. He felt somehow RELIEVED that Aranea wanted to help him, but on the other hand, he didn’t want to be a burden for her. “I appreciate both your help and your concern, but... I don’t want to be a burden for you. I don’t want to take too much of your time. You surely have more important things to do.”

She had hit him quite hard, but he did his best to not show he was hurt. “I probably don’t have the strength to make something like that again. At least, not now.” He teased, to light up the mood a bit. She was so CLOSE to him, and he couldn’t even see her. It was annoying. When he had seen her before leaving for Altissia, he had truly thought he would see her again. But he couldn’t. He would never again. “Aranea... I-I’m seriously glad you’re here.”
