Hearing the situation, one of the Marines of Nagase’s squad spoke up, “Vice Admiral Nagase…?” She let out a sigh and announced, “I’ll deal with this…After I’m done, I want you all to gather the remaining bodies…This criminal’s extremely dangerous, and I can’t risk you guys to go in there head on.”

“Yes, ma’am!” With a sigh, Nagase turned her attention to her Nightmare Demon beside her, “Ready, Xan?”

“Of course,” he replied with a smirk before the two ventured forward.

By the time the Marine ship had reached its destination, there were a few of the ship’s crew on deck that seemed to be getting ready to abandon ship. However, once they saw the other ship heading towards them, they didn’t jump into the sea and instead, about six of them began waving their arms in the air to signal the Marine ship.

“We’re saved! It’s the Marines!”

“Please let us board! Ten of our friends are below decks trying to defeat the swordsman, but we don’t know how they’re doing!”

Below decks, a fight was occurring between six people. Five of them were members of the crew who had the task of dealing with trouble, and the other was Arazel, the person that had approached the ship on his rowboat and boarded. Nearby, there were a few people wearing simple clothes, shaking in slight fear.

Val'um reared his head at the stranger, wary of their intentions already given their manner of speech. Giving a sneer, he folds his hands politely and kept his amber eyes locked onto them like the ever watchful sun. “I live here, that’s why.” He coldly answers, his voice like thunder. “It is I who should ask who you are, so brazenly wandering into my lair.”

So this had been their place of residence. Nothing unusual there.

“I am a wanderer that goes by the name of Arazel. I happened to get curious of this place and what stories it could contain, so I walked in. I should not have assumed that there was no one here, and I apologize for my intrusion. I will make my way out if you mind my presence.”
