Hi! If you don't mind my asking, how old is Penelope, and how big is her tank? I've been looking into getting a Cali King hatchling of my own but atm I only have room for a 40b, and I wouldn't want the kid to outgrow it within the year or so until my current lease is up. The bioactive with death feigning beetles is so cool, by the way!!
@arb0k Penelope is still a baby noodle lol I believe the breeder said she hatched late 2018. She’s only a bit over 18 inches and is currently living in a 40gal breeder that used to belong to Damascus with plans to upgrade to something of similar size to Aries’s tank (4x2x2) in the future. She has grown quite a bit since I got her but not so substantially that I’m worried about her needing an upgrade soon. If it helps her breeder also told me that males tend to not get quite as big as females if space is a concern for you.
5: Which of their Companions do they relate to most?
Josephine (not a companion technically I know) and Solas.
Eva avoids direct confrontation as much as possible. If she can find a cunning solution, she will employ that over a brute force or direct way. While never engaging in politics herself, she was immediately smitten with Josephine and her “niceness over knives” philosophy. In Haven, she looked forward to political lessons with Josie over almost any others. She became quite adept at it thanks to Josephine, and the two began bonding more over political gossip and discussing nobility in her room at Skyhold.
Before the Conclave, Eva took on her role of First like a duck to water. She loved nothing more than studying the history, magic, language of her people and tucking it away in her memory for safe keeping. Being a bit of a knowledge magpie, Eva picked up whatever books and scrolls she could as the clan traveled. After being so shaken by the explosion and waking up to find her life permanently changed, Solas was a grounding presence for her. Another elven mage to hold conversation, even if they did debate over Dalish culture. They’d talk together for hours, well into the night, on a whole manner of topics. After a rough day in the field recruiting or helping people, Eva longed to sit down and spend time with Solas pouring over books to soothe her nerves.
6: Which do they relate to least?
She had the hardest time connecting to Iron Bull and Vivienne at first. While fast friends now with the utmost respect towards the two of them, both teaching Eva incredibly invaluable things, she had difficulty wrapping her head around their vastly different upbringings. Bull’s tales of the Qun, Ben-Hassrath and roving mercenary directly conflicted with her life as a bookworm Dalish scholar of sorts. And Vivienne’s past of the Circle and fighting tooth and nail up the political ranks of Val Royeaux were just as foreign to her. She’d wide-eyed stare at them for the most part and nod along while they told her stories.
Thanks for these asks! I’m thoroughly enjoying them! Hope these answers are satisfying and provide a bit more insight into Evahala.
Inquisitor Headcanon Meme! Send a number and I’ll answer!
Jaguar is a top-tier gene and I absolutely adore it. I love how some of the colors have different tones and others are more natural. I especially like it on male spirals because of the way the rosettes are visible on the neck, as modeled by Marlowe and Vathys below!
Rosette is an entirely different story, because I really never use it and don’t have a dragon with it in my lair. Idk I just think the pattern on the wings is a bit boring perhaps? And I really dislike the fade it does at the edges. The concept behind Jaguar/Rosette just works so much better as a primary imo.
the clang of swords against swords. camaraderie amongst strangers sharing barracks together. orders and drills cemented into your brain from dawn to dusk. quiet acceptance that you’re expected to die for your queen. a slight uptick in your heartrate as she looks at you and smiles, and you realize you’d die for her without being ordered to.
if it makes you feel better, they 100% give out warnings before they ban for that sort of thing, as long as it isn't coli-related. so you could always just try, and stop if they ask you to! the person who got banned for the accent preview tool got banned because they told staff straight out that they had no intention of stopping even after staff asked nicely.
but this doesn't involve hosting assets off-site, and would be a really small number of requests, so honestly i think you'd probably be fine. space out the requests and maybe randomize the timing (so it starts between 5-30 minutes before rollover, maybe?) and it'd be so close to just checking manually that i doubt they'd notice anyway.
Yeah, I thought about it a bit, and it would probably be fine, but I’m little Paranoid(tm) and just. Don’t even want to come anywhere Close to potentially losing my account hah.
In the end, the difference between having to have my laptop running every morning at a certain time (~8 am, cause I very much am Not renting a server for something so tiny) and actually spending like half a minute or something recording the like. uuuh *checks notes* 8 data points is so minimal I might as well be doing the second option anyways (and feel a little safer) :D
so I’m essentially just making myself a tiny data entry tool rn :)
after some thinking I also ran into some more (a bit more technical and perhaps boring) reasons under the cut:
A) AH is not public, and it would probably be pretty obvious I’m not logging in through the browser
B) I’ve been looking at the network activity when logging in and it seems to be using a method I’m not that familiar with
C) that ‘wait while we redirect you to your lair’ page that pops up sometimes could throw a very nice wrench into the entire system
Essentially, since I’m not 100% sure how the authorization works, I could end up being Pretty Obvious by sending weird stuff (since I’d be running the script from a terminal, which is different from my browser, I can’t just. Get the authentication I did by hand on Firefox. There’s probably a way but it would be more pain than gain. I have to authenticate separately). It’s not just a standard Authorization header, I see some cookies being passed around which *shrugs* kinda don’t feel like trying to figure these out.
Also.
Fucking around with the authorization and doing it wrong could result in me sending my login details, possibly non-encrypted, to bounce around somewhere, which like,
Apparently Riolu is a baby pokemon? I was not aware. Anyway, my favorite is probably a tossup between Togepi and Pichu. They cute. Munchlax gets an honorable mention for being a pmd starter though.
Honchkrow: Are there any extra evolutions or baby pokemon that have been added that you found unnecessary?
You know, I'm not sure! I think the extra evolutions added in gen 4 for instance were great ideas, they gave some much needed love to single-evo pokemon that weren't able to stand out by themselves as particularly useful before, like Yanma or Tangela. And I like the extra evolutions added in Galarian forms like Obstagoon and Mr. Rime (although I hate the Mr. Mime line) too, for the same reasons. However when it comes to baby pokemon I think they're kinda pointless gameplay-wise. They don't even have a spot in little cup cause they suck so much. But the addition of them lore-wise and the methods to obtain them to complete the pokedex are interesting, I like non-conventional evolution stuff. I don't think their addition is bad at the very least, kind of a more the merrier situation. Baby pokemon don't have much to contribute imo but they don't hurt anything by being around!
Oh, this one’s easy! There are sooo many good starters, but no one will ever hold a candle to my precious little bulbasaur. <3
Mesprit: what is something you miss that used to be in the games?
Tbh, the only more recent game I’ve played is Moon, and that one just has all the things compared to the old games like Blue or Crystal. I do play Pokémon Go. A lot. A few things from the games I miss in PoGo, would be the variety in pokéballs, because I love matching them to the colours of the pokémon I’m catching, and being able to breed them and get more eggs. I understand why we don’t have that last one, but I do really miss the love ball.
