Serella hadn’t even thought twice about following after her friend into the Lifestream- about where Akatsuki was headed or her own attire’s suitability for such a destination. The moment she felt the wind leave her lungs at the cold that bit her still drying and mostly bare everything it took everything in her not to collapse under her quaking knees. Even breathing hurt! Her brain caught up with her despite the cold stinging her every nerve; she realized she was standing in the aetheryte plaza in Foundation. In Ishgard.

She hadn’t even realized she had made an undignified yelp in pain until Akatsuki began fretting and ordering her to grab more clothing lest she die of frostbite. Her friend’s carbuncle was a godsend, eagerly hopping toward Serella at Akatsuki’s command to offer warmth.

Through chattering teeth and as she managed to pull her cloak out of her pack, she worked through the mumbling to hiss out, “Please let me die. I’ve earned this.”

His legs dangle over the side of his bed, smile given to his visitor displaying nought else but tenderness. It’s a miracle, he knows. To survive, to have the ability to sit in this small room and breathe.

And yet she frets. Worries. His injury had been severe and was it not for her timely intervention, he’d have perished soon after shielding her. ❝ All is fine. All is well. ❞ However, would words suffice when he’d come so close to death? Mayhap not. Still, Haurchefant would try. ❝ Though I confess, I fear my days at Camp Dragonhead are numbered! But that isn’t a reason for such a frown. In time, I will recover. ❞ As much as he could, at least. Such an attack would have lingering effects, cause pain to flare up.

Of that, the knight was aware.

He’s in no position to stand, yet Haurchefant brings himself up onto somewhat shaky legs and approaches Akatsuki. Pauses, observing her face. And then he leans down.

Light and brief is the kiss upon her forehead [ was this too far? ], voice a murmur. ❝ So smile, please. For the brighter future you have bestowed onto Ishgardians and Dravanians alike. For the future you have allowed me to keep. ❞ A hero and saviour to all. Weight to carry upon her shoulders, though one he would share the burden of [ through listening, talking, helping ] should she ever desire. ❝ Smile, knowing you have saved countless from a terrible fate. ❞

As he observed, a little behind, the Warrior of the Light of the Source, Ardbert saw something at his feet in his peripheral vision. He looked down and realized that it was the young woman's carbuncle. He blinked, surprised that it could see him too. He didn't know much about magic, but he assumed that it must probably come from the bond between the summoner and her egi.

With a little smile, he knelt down and came to scratch the aetheric creature behind its ear. "So you can see me too. But you shouldn't get too far from your master, little boy, or she'll end up worrying, you know."

Aria's morale was at half-mast. She, Akastuki and their friends had just fled Ul'dah, considered traitors in the eyes of all because of a vile scheme against the Scions. In silence, she watched the snow falling from their bedroom window to the Forgotten Knight, her arms crossed on her chest, withdrawn into herself.

Stargazing and reminiscing about things in life.

Getting up to some sort of mischief together (“Ehehe. Let’s go an’ leave this mug of melted chocolate on Aymeric’s desk. It’ll be funny to see his expression when the “drink” doesn’t come outta th’ cup. … But then he can use it as a dip for th’ little breadsticks I asked my brother t’bring later.”)

… I had this random thought of Etoile asking Luca what he thought of fortune cookies and having a discussion about that LMAO (“… Huh, Y’know.. never really thought about it before, but… What’cha think of fortune cookies? D’you think they’ve got anything actual fortune telling foundation to ‘em, or d’you think s’all just a bunch’a nothin’?”)

Luca and Aedryn:

Two eldest of their respective friend groups recounting the craziness their party members find themselves in. (“Did I tell you about th’ time Etoile had t’save one of our bards because he’d gotten himself locked in th’ bloody pantry one night? Nobody wanted to go near th’ door. People thought he was some voidsent, due in part t’all his groanin’ and wailin’. ”)

Treating wounds (“Sorry. I’d ask Ettie, but I don’t want her worryin’ about me.”)

Ettie & Aymeric:

Sharing food ( Etoile would probably burst into his office one day and they can have a picnic in there or something... make sure he doesn’t forget to eat while working, lmao. “Aymeric! Did’ja eat? I brought sandwiches, an’ there’s a new bakery that opened up, so... I brought some pastries from~!”)

Etoile taking refuge in his office ( “A-Aymeric... Can I hide in here...? This li’l moogle Baby followed me from the Twelveswood, an’ I figured I’d look after ‘I’m til we found his mum. I went an’ introduced ‘im to Estinien for giggles, but then the li’l guy squirted water at his face an’ now Estinien thinks it was my idea.” )

Aymeric & Aedryn:

Trying to find one of his sister’s… petsbabies. (“Tsk! Twelve strike me down. I jus’ went to go check on her li’l brat of a raptor and he went barrellin’ down the street like Thal’s gate just opened up behind ‘im. Bobbit, I think ‘is name was? Romance discussion? ( Etoile’s 100% interested in knowing about how Akatsuki realized she loved Aymeric, if she’s willing to share that LMAO ;; Maybe one day if she falls for someone, Etoile can talk to her about her beloved, too, and they can be like high schoolers talking about their crushes :’D )

Maybe doing some mundane things together and having fun (i.e. shopping maybe??) without people bothering them about warrior of light things (possibly because Aedryn’s not too far behind and is glaring death at any who try to approach LMAO ;; )

Aedryn & Akatsuki:

He’s very much curious about Raen culture as he’s sort of looking after one of the younger party members and she too, is Raen. C’ae may ask Akatsuki about them and any traditions they may have.

This one is more Etoile-involved also, but C’aedryn is infamous for being unphased by Etoile’s pranks and is generally difficult to fluster, much to his sister’s chagrin (since he’s quite good at getting on her nerves but not vice-versa). Etoile may enlist Akatsuki’s help to try and draw some kind of reaction out of her brother.
