A Clean Slate

Well it was safe to say that things in the Amber-Price household got... well, a lot easier in the weeks that followed their engagement. Rachel remained on Maternity leave, while Chloe had to return to the tattoo parlour after a meagre two weeks; much to Rachel’s chagrin.
Of course, they completed the photoshoot with Max; travelling up to Seattle for a couple of days one weekend with Callie, which gave the baby time to get acquainted with ‘aunt Max’, and also gave Chloe the opportunity to catch up with her old friend again.
What Rachel didn’t know, however, was that the two women were really up to something more... well, exciting than ‘grabbing a coffee’. They’d been working on gathering a portfolio, and sending headshots to any agencies that would accept them. Many of whom, in fact, responded within days.
Though they’d kept quiet about that development; opting to surprise Rachel when the time was right.
It was with quiet footsteps that Chloe padded into their room; one hand holding a tray of breakfast, and the other cradling their now three-week-old daughter, who was clad in a new onesie donning the text ‘happy birthday mommy!’
Gently laying the tray on Rachel’s bedside table, Chloe then adjusted Callie, before sitting down on the edge of their bed and giving her fiancee’s shoulder a small shake.
“Hey... wake up birthday girl... it’s ten o’clock... daylight’s burnin’...”
