People will absolutely hate the gutts of teenage or young adult (often female) characters for the “unforgivable” sin of being “annoying” , having mental breakdowns by screaming or crying or doing dumb shit. Fans will want to torch these characters like a it’s the 15th century witch hunt.
While those same fans will defend to death literal mass murders, corrupt politicians, mobsters, kingpins, shady business owner exploitators, incompetent or greedy leaders, crimes against humanity characters…and call them their little muchkin because the character is calm, composed and sometimes quirky. And because the character felt bad about what they did for 5 minutes. 🤡 Talk about utter double standards
Like oh no the emotional teenage girl screaming and crying nonsense at her friends /family should be considered worse than adult characters selling drugs to minors and ruining their lives or characters being incompetent or self serving leaders and their actions indirectly leading to the suffering of hundreds.
