Alright, ArtFight references inked! (Though I feel like the bottom right corner of the boss man's sheet needs something. Can't think of anything visual to add, so maybe I'll put some text in it instead?)

Now on towards the hardest part: colors.

Realized I didn't have many drawings of Xaranthras and master Teoth (I should probably call the boss man by his actual name instead of "piebald bastard" sometime...) interacting, so in honor of reaching my goal of getting their ArtFight references done in time, decided to doodle one!

Was supposed to be just a sketch, but it turned out a bit messy so I inked it to clean up, and then oh, hey, I did have my watercolors here somewhere, and oops, a full color art.

Well, in my defense, the scenery here is rather inspiration friendly!

Termrean sleeping habits, feat. Arcanth!

The basic/dog.

The more comfy one with a pillow to hug (or a friend/partner/sibling)

That can't possibly be comfortable/the giraffe.

The coat hanger a.k.a. "that's how we found your dead parent, please don't"

Dead cockroach/torn bedsheets.

Their skull connects to the end of the neck spine by a ball joint, so the trick is usually just to point the horns aside enough to not poke anything important.

This week's coffee shop adventures sponsored by "oh shoot, ArtFight is next month, I should probably add Xaranthras too if I'm already adding his boss!"

And I keep getting surprised by how hard the heads of these guys are to draw from behind. As if I'd never had to experience that before.

Considering I'm adding Xaranthras's boss to ArtFight this year, I might as well add Xaranthras himself too. They're a package deal after all. (They are not necessary to be drawn together, but he should probably at least exist, you know)

This week's coffee shop doodle time presents: FINALLY a drawing of the piebald bastard and his personal guard dog assistant that I feel good about coloring.

Assuming I don't fuck up inking this. But still!

The way Xaranthras is glaring here, I can feel he's just itching to either cross his arms or snarl at someone, but is restraining himself to not bother his boss, who seems to be focusing on his notes or something. There's some bullshit happening off screen, and he's judging.

I got a chance to commission Hanmonster on bluesky for a portrait of Arcanth, and I just simply have to share, because LOOK!!!!

Hot DANG it turned out gorgeous! Look at all those textures!! (The snoot!!!) How shiny the eyes are, AND the gold of the nose ring! How soft the colors are, and dang, those highlights look actually pearlescent!!! The horns are lustrous, and the hair is simply luxurious!! And the teeniest hair tufts at the ear tips!!

Worth every single penny! (They're open for character portrait commissions like this, btw.)

Anyway, had to draw a little reaction image of Arcanth themself once I got the final art last night. Because dang!!
