...She probably had never understood how much--how often she'd hurt his feelings before. She was unlikely to suddenly understand it now, and the same mistakes were likely to be repeated in the future.

But he cared about his ex-coworker. He had always wanted to be friends, so in spite of his having previously stated he'd never return to her, he was here.

To visit only, but he was here.

He could hardly tell if she was happy to see him, but he was here, and she clearly wasn't irritated, yet. And as he'd decided to come, with Christmas closing in, it was only appropriate to bring a gift.

"They're your favorite... I assumed you'd like them." He said quietly. His tone lacked sass that would have probably been held by other tongues. "...I also assumed you'd like the tea I've also brought with me, and the gingerbread and cocoa, and the 'plush' blanket I intended to leave as a gift, but I could be wrong..."

Whenever Amari is out late at night at the Casino, Gold tries to stay up as late as she can to wait for her, but almost never makes it. Amari often comes home to Gold alseep at the table or couch, and she typically carries Gold to the bed.

“YOU IDIOT!” Amari snapped at Sonic, unable to keep her temper in check much longer. She was pretty strong but moving the rocks blocking their way would take a long time and possibly just cause more to fall down. “It is notworth trying to break through!” The vixen rubbed her temples as she paced around a little, trying to wrap her head around the current situation. Why did it have to end up this way anyway? All she wanted was to retrieve the relics in this blasted cave.

“I can’t believe I let Cliff talk me into taking you with me! I wanted to go in here alone but nooo take the supposed hero with me!” It was Cliff’s excavation site so it was a ‘what he says goes’ kind of deal but that didn’t mean she had no rights to complain. “Don’t kick any more rocks! Let’s just go down this tunnel and hope we find what we’re looking for and a way out!” Amari then started walking down the only way they could go, hoping that things could only get better from here.

     “It was just a suggestion, jeesh,” the hedgehog muttered, turning away with a huff and glaring at the pile of rocks blocking their exit. Amari was right though, moving one would probably only make ten more fall in its place and that wouldn’t help the situation at all. At least it could never be said that the hedgehog didn't know how to liven up a simple adventure, mistake or not.

     After watching the fox walk down the remaining tunnel for a second or two Sonic followed after her, keeping a few inches of distance between them until he was sure she cooled off enough not to bite his head off. In his defense, he hadn’t wanted to do this to begin with, he made it a point to avoid caves when the could. They were damp, dark and usually too small or narrow for him to really run in. In short: they sucked. 

     “Soooo...” After growing bored with the sounds of their footsteps the hedgehog broke the silence carefully. “What are we looking for again? Some relic or something?

Maybe it was a little blunt to greet someone that way, but Shadow wasn’t looking for small talk -- he was on a mission, and she looked as though she may prove to be of some assistance.

Headcanon: Resheph tends to walk in on Amari at the most uncomfortable moments completely by chance and thus has had some strange impressions of her.
