Today marks one full year since we lost our beautiful Archer, and today we finally put up a small monument to his memory, right where he is buried. He’s in the centre of a grove of infant trees that we planted the autumn before, and as we placed the monument, I sat there for a while and despite the noise from the road right by our house, I could see that the view is overwhelmingly of trees and greenery, and there is a real air of peace. It’s a small statue of an otter, as we couldn’t find a ferret, but it’s completely perfect. Not least because Archer was a huge boy so we often called him an otter! We also brought his brother Bear out to say hello to the statue, and he had a good sniff about. This truly is a sacred Grove. #ferretsofinstagram #archerandbear #remembrance https://www.instagram.com/p/Cd86HIQrR7A/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
