There's another 5 pages of a revised version, but the 2nd one is missing (un)fortunately. That version was made in like 4th grade. There was also a version made in 1st grade but it got thrown out accidentally. The versions after this were on a computer which has since died. And then I hard reset it all and the various (adhd go brr) books are in google docs. And now I just draw my silly guys.

Anti-ICE Rally
I stand before you today as a representative of the student movement.
A university, at its best, brings together people from all walks of life — people of different ages, races, nationalities, classes, genders, sexualities, and countless other intersections of identity and experience.
Academia is strongest when it is diverse. Through diverse experiences, we gain diverse ways of seeing the world — and of solving our shared problems. Through diversity, we grow.
When that diversity is demonized in favor of hegemony, it is not only the targeted individuals who suffer. We all lose when our immigrant friends, neighbors, and families are pushed out of our communities. We lose the richness of lived experience, the wisdom that comes from different lives, different histories, different ways of knowing.
When all that remains are people with the same experiences and the same identities, what is left for us to learn from one another? And how can we grow when there are no new perspectives — no nuance, no challenge, no exchange?
In a world that is increasingly restrictive, the university should be a port of entry. It calls to some of the most ambitious, intelligent, and courageous people in the world — people who come to learn, to teach, to grow, and who become integral parts of our communities. Yet these international students, so full of passion and promise, are targeted, brutalized, and ostracized.
When families are torn apart and our immigrant friends and neighbors are stripped from our communities, something larger is being dismantled: our collective capacity to question, to imagine alternatives, to think differently. In other words, this is an attempt to ensure that we do not ask questions — that we accept only one prescribed way of being.
It is easy, if you are not the target of visible brutality, to continue on with daily life. And to be honest, this message is not really for those of you who have shown up again and again. My hope is that you will reach out — that you will remind those who are not here today that when our minority communities lose, we all lose.
Embracing our differences as strengths has been a core lesson of our childhood stories for as long as stories have been told. Why, then, have so many forgotten this basic truth? We can all guess at the reasons: privilege, complacency, a sense of superiority — or perhaps the opposite, a deeply rooted sense of insecurity.
What I know for certain is this: a people united by our differences will always be stronger than a people divided by fear and hatred.
So, from the student movement to this community, I say: un pueblo unido jamás será vencido.
