Beachside - by me!
This house is a sea-side base, a split-level house with rooms for every need. The design was influenced by real beachside summer houses on stilts - wide flat platforms and sloped roofs. Its structural integrity was taken into careful consideration - visible beneath the platform are beams tying down to their stilt supports. The stilts then rest on sand mounds, which inadvertently created a cozy harbor space beneath the house. The roof is uneven to bring natural daylight through the gap into the living room. The highest level, the bed, is the most private floor while the living room, immediately accessible, is the most public.
This house is a return to building Minecraft bases after a few years of college hiatus. It was built entirely in Survival mode, which took an entire day. I did not go through my usual process of drafting up plans and sections, so refinement consumed a considerable resources. And it was difficult to construct, since it rested on stilts - meaning any mistake meant falling into unforgiving water. However, it was worth it. After days of scouring for a site, I finally settled on this one for its proximity to various resources. A few sketches and diagrams served as the start point for construction.
