So Astor's dead. In case you haven't heard And I've been talking to @pressure-operationqna about a few things that would happen in between and here's what we got:

Archie is never going to forgive himself for this. He failed the one person who meant the world to them. He got them killed. He could've done more and he should've killed Query sooner but he didn't. At best he was compliant and at worse he has murdered the love of his life.

Archie stays in that lab for about a week with Astor's body. Scared to move and touch them again. Not eating, sleeping, or bathing. Doesn't seem worth letting Astor out of his sight for.

Week 2 Archie finally moves Astor's body out of the room Mischa finds out Archie had something to do with Astor's death and loses his mind. Daily sessions of Mischa tearing Archie apart but Archie doesn't fight back. He just takes it because he thinks he deserves it for failing. WISHING Mischa would kill him and send him to the Banlands to maybe stay with Astor but he knows that's not what they would've wanted... so he doesn't. Only once Archie is going through the depression does Mischa have a change of heart and helps Archie out since them getting along is something Astor would've wanted.

Archie does the 5 stages in this order: bargaining (the "it it's my fault take me instead" type), depression (letting Mischa tear him apart), denial. Never gets to anger or acceptance.

There's something very specific Archie does during denial... he continues their skin care routine on their body. It's seen it enough times to know what to do. And he knows Astor would hate to see his body slowly get worse for wear after all the work they've done to keep it intact so every day as Astor lays down on their bed Archie goes through the motions. Archie takes care of Astor more than he does himself.
