Terra: House of the Earth

Students whose patronus’ walk only the ground, are sorted into Terra house of the earth. This is the most populous house. Their colors are green and bronze, their symbol is a mountain, and their mascot is Bigfoot. Their dorms often only have one story or have some underground dorms. They will also be located within a forest or have their own indoor green house forest for their sasquatch guardian.

Caelum: House of the Sky

Students whose Patronus’ are flying animals are sorted into Caelum the house of the sky. Their colors are white and silver, their symbol is a cloud, and their mascot is Mothman. Their dorms vary from campus to campus, some are located in trees, some are towers or skyscrapers, and others are regular dorm buildings with very powerful levitation charms. All the dorms do include a nest and perch for their Moth Person guardian.

Archrrow Core Classes

Like most American Schools, Archrrow has both core classes and electives. The Core Subjects are Magical Sciences, Magical History, Magical Literature, and Incantations. Each Core Subject has subsection of classes. Some are required while others are voluntary.

Archrrow Founding

Schools were independently created all throughout the United States as land was acquired and colonized. However, during the civil war, it became clear to MACUSA that the magic community had no real basis for magical education and rights. So the President at the time, Rosalie Colt, founded the Ilvermorny Education Oversight Department. Each state was given its own official school, all joined together under the name Archrrow. 

The only two states that are not included under the Archrrow umbrella are Hawaii and Alaska. Alaskans still attend the Canadian Wizarding School, while Hawaiians have their own magic school.

Archrrow Sorting

Unlike Hogwarts which sorts its students during their first year, Archrrow doesn’t sort their students until the end of their third year. At which point the students will have been taught the Patronus charm. They will then cast it for the time during their third year graduation. Then depending on the animal, they are sorted into three houses. Mare, Caelum, and Terra.

You have been given this opportunity in recognition of your magical aptitude. We have enclosed a starter package with this letter so you can familiarise yourself with the campus, the opportunities, and the Facilities we offer. Feel free to reach out to us at any time, we would like to make the transition as easy as possible. We have also included a form to be filled out, where you will choose which State Branch to attend.
