Arctic bramble is already ripe :O
(The green/white ones too, that’s the cool thing about arctic bramble – some are green but actually ripe!)
The cloudberries are starting to ripen too

Berry Time
Rubus arcticus apparently called arctic bramble in English, is one off if not the best berry there is, I love them!
I stumbled upon an arctic bramble (Rubus arcticus) flower on my evening walk the other day. This plant is a close relative to the cloudberry, stone bramble, raspberry and wild strawberry, and its berries are considered by many to be the finest and most exquisite tasting berries in Finland. I had never seen these plants before, nor tasted the berries, which is probably due to the fact that it’s most common in Central Finland, and sadly these few isolated plants found in the south don’t produce berries because the flowers need pollen from other plant individuals in order to produce fruit, hence I probably won’t be able to taste the berries unless I find a good concentration of arctic brambles somewhere else.
