it might be a dumb question, but do people actually used to live on Arcturus-Station? Like, is it like the citadel with apartments, cafés and stuff like that?

Yes. From the wiki: “Arcturus Station was inaugurated in 2156, and has served as the military and political headquarters of the Systems Alliance since the First Contact War. Arcturus Station currently has a permanent population of 45,000, and is where Joker grew up before joining the Academy.“

Yes, I'm still aware of the steady passage of time, even if my internal clock is having some difficulties adjusting to life on the station. Perhaps that's had an effect on my sleeping-- or lack of sleeping, I suppose. I won't insult your intelligence by proposing it's the cause.

Arcturus station is certainly fascinating. Modified Stanford Torus-type, 5 kilometer diameter, current population sitting around 30,000, including The Alliance Parliament and The Prime Minister. I haven't seen much of the station in person, since the committee seems to believe I should stay put in my appointed room, but I catch glimpses in the view ports when we walk to your office. For all that I've read about stations, no amount of theoretic material or extranet vids can impress upon you the scope of one as large as this. It's magnificent. Cai would have loved it.

You probably wouldn't be able to see Themis, would you? The mirrors reflecting the light from Arcturus would probably preclude anyone from seeing it from the torus. That's alright, Themis is hardly a fascinating planet on its own. I guess I was letting myself be wistful, being that the trojan point between it and Arcturus puts the station so much closer to the planet, and it must be quite a sight from this distance. I know you can see the ships in and around the hub, though. With all of the first fleet milling about the station, the hub must be busy indeed, and that's not mentioning the sheer amount of traffic from diplomatic functions and joint military and political affairs like the Mindoir Committee.

I would certainly enjoy getting to see the station, doctor. I'm willing to bet it's much more beautiful than your little office we keep squandering time in.
