What makes me twitch while reading semi crappy fanfic is when they start throwing around the “Thee” and “Thou” Willy-nilly like you do know that they are the informal version of “You” in English right??? (Or so I’ve been told in my English language courses)
It’s not to be impersonal and higher up but actually as personal as it can get as you only use “Thee/Thou” for family or very close friends.
That’s why in the Christian Bible (or the ones that I have sen) use those instead of “You” since it’s ‘God’s’ words/teachings to each individual reading or listening to it that it has to use the personal aspect over the impersonal.
As I’ve previously said this is something that I had learned in school so I have a fifty fifty chance of this being actually correct or being incorrect due to missing segments of information that I am currently unaware of, so if I am totally wrong I will gracefully say that I would love to learn how to correct this mistake as long as the individual is polite about it.
