now that im seeing the return of the cishet at pride discourse, its time to again point out how little grace is given to trans women at pride compared to just how much is given to cishets wanting access to queer spaces. like, im expected to compromise and take part in your traditions with people who want me ostracised and make peace with people who would throw me to the wolves. im sure heterosexual jessica is nice but why is more time spent making sure the hypothetical straight is kept comfortable and pleased while trans women are just assumed to be fine with your ritual transmisogyny and marketability?
every year trans women's criticisms of pride and ideas for it get shot down. we get attacked for it. like. sure. let your straight friends come to pride. let them into the queer groups. let them into the support groups. i don't get why you'd want that, but sure. i won't be there anyway so what should i care. but maybe just shut up about it?
