Great News! I reported a video for the first time.
It was one of those Folk Valley trend videos.
If you’re not aware, TikTok’s audience tends to be…sick in the head, I mean that respectfully, and also…very aware of how algorithmic filters work.
YouTube, TikTok, and other short form social media platforms use AI to make sure a video doesn’t break guidelines, such as gore or explicitly sexual content, and while it does recognize these issues, it’s an AI software, and that’s means it kinda garbage.
And people take that to their advantage.
There are SEVERAL trends on YouTube and TikTok that use filters, extreme editing, and slang/internet humor typically associated with kids, such as the Invert filter.
The AI being trusted to successfully filter out very obviously illegal/gorey content will see the video, take a glance, and, due to these measures, will let the video go up and see what happens.
These videos are often associated with morbid topics, such as school shooters, mass shooters, criminals, natzees, antisemitism, animal cruelty, and ACTUAL SHOCK VIDEOS.
THERE ARE TRENDS OF THIS. THESE VIDEOS DONT TALK ABOUT THE CRIMES THESE PEOPLE COMMIT, THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE VIDEO, THE IMPACT IT HAS, OR HOW THESE LOSERS, because that is the correct term for people who romanticize these criminals and topics, REACT TO THESE TOPICS. In fact, a lot of the people who make this content are the losers and the losers who try to re-inact these murders.
A lot of these people go the extra mile and use AI or AI filters, like the minion AI craze, to cover up the true nature of the shock videos in the background to get this recommended on children versions of apps and algorithms like YouTube Kids.
The specific version I saw was apart of something called the ‘Folk Valley’ trend, which consists of videos that seem normal or cute at first, but then something that WILL kill or hospitalize someone occurs, and when that happens, the editor, or prompter of these often AI generated videos, will put the invert filter over it. The reason why it’s called the Folk Valley trend is because this supposedly happens in a place called Folk Valley. It’s kinda like the ‘Only in Ohio’ thing, if you remember that.
The video shows a woman, laying on the floor, tossing an apple slice in the air, and her dog tries to bite it and fails. The dog then rips her face off.
Please spread awareness of this and report the Folk Valley trend and others like it!
