When it comes to building something from the bottom up it takes a team of dedicated and loyal people around you. I've had my Facebook for only 3 years and have only requested/accepted request from people I've actually met. I had someone come up to me at a show recently and ask, "Are you going to accept my request?!" I simply replied, Why hello, my name is Bryan. Who are you?" Social media makes people feel like they know you and you haven't even shared air in a room with these people. It's at this time in most people's careers where they want to friend 3,000 people and get their shit out to as many people as they can. This is not my approach. I love the feeling of someone "discovering" me for the first time. I earned each and everyone of my supporters by treating them like people I know because I actually take the time to campaign and meet people. This music shit isn't too far from politics. I see cats struggling for fame when it should be about struggle for mutual respect and aspiration. I keep my circle small and full of useful people who have a purpose in life. I only have 600 FB friends: 100 from grade school 100 from college 100 family members 300 from the music With that said, I'd rather get 2 likes from people I actually know and respect than 100+ from people I never met and don't care about.
