And let's ignore ng said well before the scandal and rewrite that the ending was already planned and written, and it really wouldn't be as gentle and romantic as S2. It's way better to heartlessly claim random things for engagement with the biggest font, innit ? :)

The biggest change in fandoms that occurred over the years is that once upon a time people would take random characters and create fics and if someone wanted to read them they simply did, whereas now everything ends up in a fight of how canon it is. The fanfic’s point was that it wasn’t in the original story… And now majority of fights in fandoms are people fighting what’s more possibly canon. Some people forgot what’s the point of fandoms.
