Monza Arengario "Steve McCurry. Leggere" 17th January - 13th April 2020
Info
Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Taken on 05/01/2020. In the beating heart of Monza sits the ancient town hall called the 'Arengario' that was built towards the end of the 13th century. I took a photo of this impressive structure in order to highlight its radiant red brick walls as well as its unique shape and design. The 'Arengario' (which comes from the Italian verb 'arringare' [to address], as in to give public speeches) is a wonderful example of Lombard architecture. In fact, it is just one of a plethora of fascinating structures in this delightful city that have remarkably stood the test of time. Monza is more often than not eclipsed by its nearest neighbour Milan — but that doesn't mean you should give Monza a miss. Monza may be most famous for its Autodromo that continues to host the Italian Formula One Grand Prix; however, it is a terrific tourist destination in its own right and is well worth a visit. Monza can be reached via Milan train stations (preferably Milano Centrale or Milano Porta Garibaldi) or via Lecco or Como (Como San Giovanni station). ________________________________________ #monza #arengario #lombardy #in_lombardia #italia #italy #ilikeitaly #beautifulplaces #ig_italia #yallersitalia #volgoitalia #igerslombardia #yallerslombardia #volgolombardia #italygram #travelstories #mastergallery #socality #forbestravelguide #vivolombardia #streetphotography #redbrick #samsungphotography #smartphonephotography #samsung #italy_hidden_gems #italy_ig #travelandleisure #huntgramitaly #italianarchitecture (at Arengario di Monza) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8w1R4MIpjz/?igshid=1mlt0f62dw47g
