Rant

My mom is finally going to marry her boyfriend this summer, after 13 years. I went with her for her dress, since we didn’t find what she wanted I’ll go during the day looking in shop and take notes, I’ll have to prepare all the music, help doing the whole buffet and the decoration, support her through her insecurities (I nicknamed her Momzilla because I can’t take it anymore), serve people at the reception, and probably more. And who does she ask to be her witness?

Big brother who won’t do anything because he don’t live with us anymore. Why doesn’t he live with us? Because him and my soon-to-be step-father were always screaming at eachothers and he never accepted their relation. 

I know this isn’t about me, it’s her second wedding, it’s her choice, it’s just signing a paper, but still. I’m the one who always defended her and her relationship even if she cheated on my dad, I always put her hapiness and stopped myself multiple times to say some truths because it might would have hurt her. Not my brother. I adore him, but it was suppose to be me. I guess I just took it for granted. It’s weird because I never do, but it’s my mom. I always thought we were pretty close so when she just ask my brother (during his once in a month visit) if he could be her witness -in front of me- I just froze. I just don’t get it.

It makes me so upset to see other people that don't believe in equality.. what started this mini rant, was seeing one of my closest friends since middle school (haven't seen them in over a year or so) being pro-life. Now there's nothing wrong with that, at all. But what scared me half to death, is seeing them in pro-life marches with signs saying things like "our generation will end abortion" And that terrifies me.. Some people are so wrapped up in their own beliefs, they don't take in consideration other people and their lives. To go as far as, "there is only one way to do this and it's going to be my way with my beliefs and you can't do a damn thing about it." 

What I love most about pro-choice is the word CHOICE. Everyone has a right to choose their own path. And it really does terrify me that if one day abortions are no longer legal (or something of the sort), then there is no way out.. I cannot CHOOSE.. and what scares me even more is that I'm too afraid to make love to the person I'm with just because this debate has me so so so terrified, that If the pro-life only road wins.. I can't do anything.. It makes me feel trapped.. 

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you are pro-life, fantastic, you do you, but let others choose for themselves.. Please.
