Argyle was fun, silly, unserious, and everything I would want from a comedy spy movie with this particular cast and a cat as one of the main characters

Except for one thing

Whoever made the decision to not have Henry Cavill and John Cena making out in the back of that boat are cowards

you just KNOW

that there is an in universe fandom for her book series that is CONVINCED the argyle and side guy are in love like supernatural style fan shenanigans

and you KNOW that they were putting together dots during her author confrence thing like

come on people! they reflect the authors real relationships! it’s so cannon!!

and other people who are like

nooooooo they slept with girls stop and let men be friends shit

like i just know that that’s real in the argyle/ (i guess kings man?) movie universe

would someone be able to explain what is happening around Argyle (2024) ????

when I originally saw the trailer I was like “cool meta spy movie will try to see that in theaters” and then I heard about the book and was like “extra cool the creators wrote a book to accompany the movie that’s fun” and now there seems to be possibly all this mystery around who the author actually is ???? which I don’t understand and there’s theories about who ghost wrote it like Taylor Swift maybe I guess ????

I thought it was just part of the marketing and maybe the mystery is too and just got out of hand and/or I’m just struggling to understand it but anyway does anyone know and could maybe explain?
