Argyrotypes revisited 07
Comparing a split-toned cyanotype to an argyrotype of the same image. I prefer the cyanotype in this case. I get pretty bored with the monochrome Prussian blue of a straight cyanotype, so I’ve gotten skillful with doing these split tones through careful bleaching. I haven’t decided whether I care for the argyrotype process or not. So far, this is the best looking print I’ve managed to get with it, and I don’t think it holds up compared to kallitype or Van Dyke brown. Only advantage it seems to have is that the chemical is easy to mix and use; but the fact that its so incredibly sensitive to paper and humidity really turns me off.

Stacks of prints to finally get around to scanning to put up on my website. Been doing all this alt photo printing the past couple years, time to start showing it off online...
