Let's get Robbie some attention too, so how about "go back to sleep" with him and anyone else of you choice?
Tired glazed eyes were totally out of focus as cold and numb feet dragged and stumbled down the hallway. He wasn’t sure why he was awake, why he was up..his next of blankets seemingly bringing him little comfort. The dark, though not scary, was eerily empty, not a hero nor doctor sitting awake in the kitchen to see him.
He wandered aimlessly to the table, fingers brushing over the smooth surface, getting lost staring at the simple patterns in the wood.
Faintly there was the sound of a door and purposefully quiet footsteps coming down the hall.
The poor zombie jumped as his name was whispered. Glancing up panicked at the owner of the call.
Chase’s expression softened, sleep mused lime hair sitting to the side. “’S late. What are you doin’ up?”
Robbie bit his lip, hand sliding off the table as he gave a shrug. Making an unknowable hum.
Chase’s lips pursed briefly, and he sighed, making a gesture out of the kitchen. “Come on then, back to bed.”
Robbie paused, before lowering his head and shuffling to follow Chase as he leads down the hall. Almost certain he’d be turned back to his empty room, he was pleasantly surprised when Chase turned towards his own room and held the door ajar.
Glancing to his own rooms door, and to Chase, who gave a comforting nod. He slowly walked in.
There was a gentle scent to the room, that didn't take a sensitive nose to pick out. Though could only be described as ‘Chase’. Slightly fruity, with that hint of cologne, something, fatherly about it.
Chase pushed the door too while he lingered by the bed, fiddling with his sleeves. He watched as Chase slid under the covers, and proceeded to flick them open invitingly.
Shuffling over Robbie slowly allowed himself to crawl into the bed. At first, avoiding getting too into Chase’s space before he found himself pressed up against him, head safely curled into his chest.
Chase’s hand lightly tugged the blanket over him, and a hand brushed through his purple locks. Resulting in near-instant eye flutter as the soothing warmth.
“Don’t worry... I get lonely too.” Chase murmured as he stroked the youngers head.
Perhaps it was the lack of wife.. or lack of kids, or maybe it was just Chase’s strange intuition. Either way, Robbie mumbled something obscure, before finally letting his eyes shut.
He was finally asleep within minutes, and Chase soon followed. Both taking peace in the companionship.
