Halting Disease

This disease is an invasive virus that is currently infecting Planet ___. Very few have been cured due to a shortage of supplies due to the planet's quarantine.

While striking similarities with the Cordyceps Fungus (AKA Zombie-Ant Fungus), this disease evolves from the pollen of an invasive flower known as Creeping Bire. The foreign pollen, mixed with the spores of one Planet ___'s native plants, Mina Fern, mutate into uncontrollable vines, fronds, and flowers. They are relentless, and adaptive to nearly any area, from the brightest of sunny fields, to the darkest of wells. They are extremely hard to get rid of completely due to their rhizomes burrowing deep into the ground. Pruning can only be done efficiently by fire, but they will always come back stronger by the end of 48 hours.

Roots and rhizomes can and will burrow in anything that breathes and moves. The host will be induced in a paralyzed state, but ultimately kept alive for both parties' survival.

If the host is too weak or too young to sustain the roots, then the host is quickly absorbed and the roots will begin their search again.
