Welp. I thought I could let this go but I don't think I can.

Please stop trying to demonize Baelfire in order to make Hook look like the good guy. Seriously. Okay, so a lot of people disagree with Bae's actions when he grew up. Fine, that's your opinion.

But I am tired of seeing so many people complain that Hook was just trying to take Bae in and that Bae's the bad guy because he yelled at him and turned him away. Did everyone forget what Hook said he wanted to do in the beginning of the very same episode?

"If we return the boy to him, it could be the very key to our survival in Neverland."

"I can't part with him now, not when I know he's the Dark One's son."

"He is the key to my revenge, I won't lose him."

And even by Hook's very own admission. Baelfire: "Stop! You used me! You wanted to kill my father!" Hook: "Yes. I did."

Just because Hook changed his mind midway does not mean he gets a gold star. You do not get a gold star for doing a decent thing you should be doing to begin with (aka not hand him over to the demon child that even you fear or use as bait/leverage for revenge). Just because Hook is better now does not mean he was always so shiny.

Yes, Bae wanted to get off the boat. Can you blame him? Not only did he lose his father and a family in the span of 6 months, but he'd been living on the streets alone, in a new land he knew nothing about and just found out that his mother abandoned him and ran off with this guy who just admitted to wanting to kill his father and use him for revenge. How is it so unreasonable that a sad, angry, and confused kid didn't trust Hook?

tl;dr please stop demonizing the hurt and confused 14/15 year old.

I'm going to go bang my head against a wall if I see one more Rumple stan trashing Neal. There's a line between disliking and calling out mistakes and outright trashing.

And I know they're not real, but do you seriously think Rumple would be any kind of okay with trashing his son? Because it's not like he admitted to Belle that he didn't blame Neal for not trusting him or anything >_>

Why did I step into the Neal tag?

I knew I was gonna get pissed off why did I do it?

The double standards in this fandom are ridiculous. I honestly cannot go in Neal's tag a whole lot these days without seeing some kind of bitching post. Is it really so hard to keep it confined to your tag? Or an anti tag? I just wanna enjoy my favorite character, why is that hard?

And people are seriously trying to downplay Hook giving Neal over to the lost boys because he already wanted off the ship? Hook's intent counts for nothing right? Hook was pissed off at Bae and wanted to hand him over because of it, point blank (all because Hook can't grasp that he's a fourteen year old traumatized kid who's been to hell and back). He had malicious intent, I don't care what Bae wanted to do, that does not erase that Hook was trying to hurt him.

What Neal did may not have been the greatest thing to do, but do not sit there and try and turn Hook into Prince Charming just because you are looking for any excuse to call Neal as the antichrist. What Neal did does not erase what Hook did!

Okay, because my first visit to the Neal tag in a few days and I see people trying to push the Tamara argument... a lot... again... I'm starting to feel like a broken record...

This will probably sound blunt, but I'm sorry, you are really missing the point about Neal's feelings for Tamara.

"What was so heartbreaking about Tamara, he felt it was real, he thought he had found it, he had moved on, and I think secretly he’s always wanted to be with Emma, but never thought that was an option. I think he knew Emma well enough that it would be really hard to get her to forgive him. So he moved on, and then to find out that was wrong.” - Eddy (from the Second Star To The Right podcast)

Yes, he loved Tamara. But it was never ever nearly anywhere close to what he felt for Emma. Of course he is shown to love Emma as soon as Tamara is gone because he has loved Emma all along.And that's what I feel like people don't really understand. Tamara was the silver medal- NOT Emma. Tamara was who he went with because he didn't think he could have Emma and was too scared to try, not the other way around. Emma is NOT the rebound!

Neal acknowledges he's screwed up, twice now. Once to Emma, once to Mulan. And now he's starting to finally realize "Hey idiot time to stop running I really love this girl and this is what I want." (of course I still understand why he didn't try and I don't necessarily view him as cowardly for it because there was plenty of reasonable expectation she'd never forgive him but that's my own thing :s) And that's why now that Tamara has been revealed it's easy for him to go back to Emma, because not only is he still in love with her, but the stuff with Tamara has probably made him realize even more what he gave up with Emma. Oh, and there's kinda the fact of shooting him and putting his son and the woman he really loves in danger... tends to put quite the damper on one's feelings. And if his love with Tamara was flimsy from the beginning, then all of that is going to do a lot to turn his feelings.

And on top of that, look at how he acted towards Tamara when Emma came back into his life.

- He was going to skip town and use her car, didn't even bother to call or explain why he was leaving town with his beautiful ex for undisclosed reasons

- When asked about said car he said it belonged to a "friend"

- He couldn't return Tamara's "I love you."

- He was clearly dodging telling Emma how he met Tamara because he didn't want her to hear it, which Tamara promptly called him out on

And a whole mess of other things but since I've ranted about them all before I'm not going to bother again. Point is, if he was so madly in love with her, why wouldn't he be more up front about it? Why would he try to dodge things relating to her and especially in front of Emma?

I keep seeing things like "Oh he should've left Tamara as soon as Emma came back" or "He said he needed her" and etc etc. But thing is? The only time Emma was ever forthright about her feelings was above the portal- right before he fell through. Up until that point, Emma was vehemently denying any feelings for him. So yeah, of course he needed Tamara- he's confronted with all this crazy emotional stuff, including his situation with Emma, and Emma is still pissed and cold towards him, so yeah of course he is going to need Tamara because at that point she is all he has. That's not any big proof of some grand love, it just means he's falling back to the only person he can because he does love Tamara at least a little. And as for leaving Tamara instantly as soon as Emma came back... again, if Emma is adamantly denying any feelings for him, why would he leave Tamara when he doesn't think Emma loves him at all? You do understand a relationship takes two willing participants and Emma's feelings matter too right? What's he supposed to do? Force himself on her until she gives in?

And you know what the funny part is, I bet you anything if Neal had left Tamara to try and be with Emma, people would be ripping him apart and calling him all sorts of nasty things like an asshole for leaving his fiance for another woman or trying to force himself on her. People would find some way to twist him into the worst possible light, as usual.

It just amazes me how many people can give Hook and Regina and Rumple free passes but the one who actually has well meaning intentions and flat out says "I screwed up badly and I hate myself for it" gets ripped to shreds. I just?????

Point is, yes, the Nealmara thing probably did hurt Neal a little bit. But his love for Emma supersedes all that. And I don't know about you, but I am willing to bet that when Emma and Neal finally get to addressing the mess between them Tamara is something that's brought up. But seriously... Nealmara is NOT that epic a love story. It was his comfort when he didn't think he could have what he really wanted.

Neal's arc this season is him realizing how he's screwed up and how he's going to fight like hell to fix it

Ugh, polls don't mean anything especially when people are out to knock you down they can just as easily fuck up the poll. It's not like it's going to make anything canon. I don't know what this mentality against swanfire shippers is all of a sudden- so what, just because most of us don't feel the need to be loud and obnoxious and flood Adam's twitter we're suddenly less of a ship and we're "failed"?  Being quiet doesn't mean we've failed.

Okay seriously the more stuff they release the more apathetic I am getting to even watching this show anymore. I hope the stuff with Neal and Ariel/Eric is good because at that point that's all that's keeping me tethered.

Hook as a hero... seriously... *facedesk* So you can shoot people and beat people and leave them to die and make shitty triggering jokes but all that gets shoved aside and you can magic eraser that shit and become a hero too! What a great message! You can go out and pop a cap in someone and as long as you don't kill them it's totally good because you're just angry and woobie and misunderstood!

I love Hook. But new fluffy version? DO NOT WANT.
