u love persephone? you should experience my favorite poem! it's 'the garden of proserpine' by algernon charles swinburne (proserpine being the roman version of persephone) and i first discovered it through the tenth series of unfortunate events book (my favorite of them all) and since i was a smol it has been my favorite poem :)) ~here, where the world is quiet; here, where all trouble seems; in dead winds' and sweet waves' riot; in doubtful dreams of dreams...~
This poem was so lovely aby! Thanks for sharing!
This was my favorite verse:
Pale, beyond porch and portal, Crowned with calm leaves, she stands Who gathers all things mortal With cold immortal hands; Her languid lips are sweeter Than love's who fears to greet her To men that mix and meet her From many times and lands.
