klaus and five both having awful night terrors and always ending up in each others room at night. five wandering over and seeing klaus wide awake, smoking a cigarette and listening to music on that same walkman he's had since he was a teen. five asking if he minds having some company and klaus just beckoning him over.

they don't talk about what they have night terrors of, but the way five sits unusually close to klaus says it all. the way five keeps staring at him like he's scared he'll vanish any second, keeps finding excuses to reach out and touch klaus, keeps watching klaus inhale and exhale the smoke of his cigarette. klaus knows five is scared of losing his family again, but he won't ever admit it, so klaus doesn't bring it up. just lets five live in the moment, taking all of the small moments he needs to be reassured that he isn't going anywhere.

five eventually falls asleep in klaus' bed, clinging onto him so desperately, and klaus finds himself also being comforted by the feeling of five's chest rising and falling, just so grateful that he's alive.

mkay, so real life was hell this last month, and I had to decide whether to post this, which I've been working on for AGES now, but unfinished, or save it for later and maybe never finish it because I'm having issues with my had going numb and pain. I did have a background, but I absolutely hated it, which is why he looks cut and paste because I stupidly merged all my layers. But I wanna have Five's sorta steampunky study as the backdrop. Also I want to add some details to Klaus' cape at some point. *fingers crossed that my hand behaves*

What if they jump into a parallel universe and Dave is still alive, and Five saying something to Klaus like：He's your happy ending, not me. THEN WHAT？

Klaus waking up in the middle of the night to Five snuggling up to him. Klaus—drowsy, confused, calls Five by name. Five only mumbles something unintelligible, wraps his arm across Klaus' chest, and hides his face into Klaus' side. He never wakes up. His first instinct is to be as close as possible to Klaus.

In return, Klaus' expression softens. He turns onto his side and embraces Five with both of his arms. He kisses him on top of the head before falling back to sleep.

Whether it's "I can't sleep without you anymore" or "I'm afraid to lose you again", Klaus doesn't really care. He's happy to have Five back, too.

(This would fit season 1, but what if the trauma of losing each other again and again is everlasting? What if it's so horrible, Five still has nightmares with Klaus dead/missing, and Five needs reassurance that the reality is not like that?

What if Five usually tries to control his feelings and tries to sleep separately, but Klaus is his comfort, his reassurance that they're still okay, no matter what timeline they are. That they're still together.

So Five will then find himself waking up in Klaus' arms in the morning, remembering that the previous night his hands started shaking, it was getting harder to breathe, and his legs carried him to Klaus' bed before he could realise and stop himself?

So what if Five gets so used to having Klaus as his home and the PTSD is so strong, it literally carries over to season 2 and s3?

I obviously ship them, so it can be anything, but this doesn't have to be romantic (or with clear romantic boundaries and dating). They were literally best friends when they were kids. They spent so much time together. Seeing Klaus dead probably got Five the most. Klaus was the only one Five was ready to talk to without insulting when he jumped back. He literally complimented Klaus on the dress.

These two are CLOSE. And no matter how much Five tries to act independent, Klaus is still the one he comes to. Klaus is still his home.)
