ARIA WEEK
ARIA WEEK has been filled with music showcases, in which I have attended Sony Music, Island Records (Universal) and Chugg Entertainment.
Tuesday Night
Chugg Entertainment was held at the Beresford in Surry Hills, and I was fortunate to catch the first two acts, XX and Sheppard, the latter who I saw at BIGsound last year, and they succeeded to impress me again!
Unfortunately I missed seeing the rest of the nights acts as I walked down the road and around a few corners to Oxford Art Factory for Island Records showcase where I caught the last act Andy Bull getting the crowd going following XX.
What a night - great to see some old faces in the industry and meet many more, like the lovely Emma Birdsall (x-factor) whose album is due very soon!
Wednesday Night
Sony Music held their showcase at Marquee, The Star and the night was filled with performances by their top and latest Australian artists. Following a speech from CEO Dennis Hanlin, newcomer Bonnie Anderson was first to take the stage, with her song 'Raise the Bar' which I'm sure is soon to make her a household name!
She was followed by Dami Im, the winner of X-Factor 2013, whose voice is just beyond incredible - TV does not do this girl's vocals justice, wow.
Timomatic and Justice Crew each performed two songs throughout the night, dancing and all, and they were followed by Reece Mastin and Samantha Jade whose vocals and performances were truly entertaining and I can't wait to hear more from them and the rest of the Sony Music Artists!
Wishing them all good luck for the awards this Sunday, and can't wait to see them on the 'Black Carpet'
