There are so many different ways to approach this!! You’ve got your SAM who loves Sara but Sara doesn’t have any idea, you’ve got your poly option where SAM is just kind of understood to be part of the whole thing, and then where SAM and Sara have had interactions but then it’s just physical, at least that’s what they agreed, but they both felt a lot more than just physical but won’t admit it to each other and maybe even themselves. I love the idea of exploring how Ryder feels guilty the first time they kiss their love interest but, for a long time, cant figure out WHY. Like, I haven’t been in a relationship since three years before I left the milky way. Even then it wasn’t serious. Why does kissing this person whom I am actually making this deep connection with make me feel like I’m betraying someone DAMNIT WHY IS LOVE SO COMPLICATED.
