jax being pre transition is so important to me actually, cuz as a trans person who can't get on hrt and can't transition at the moment, i really feel seen. also like after years of repressing you don't just go "yeah im gonna be this now, fuck it", esp after jax spent so much time resenting feminity in general.

so, the similarities:

both need therapy

both repress the hell out of themselves

both scared to be vulnerable with others

both have trust issues

both have personas they put on to hide their real self (detective prince and black mask for Akechi; jax versions in the doors scene)

both hurt and pushed away the person they were the closest to (akechi shooting ren in the interrogation room; jax verbally and emotionally abusing pomni and ribbit)

both did something unforgiveable they can't undo (mental shutdowns and assasinations for akechi; killing (?) her mother, causing ribbit to abstract, abusing ragatha and gangle for jax)

both killed themselves (engine room for Akechi, yes i read that self sacrifice as suicide; abstraction for jax)

both think it's "too late" ("if only we had met a few years earlier"- akechi; "it's too late" -jax)

both think they're unloveable (it's more implied in akechi's case, but i read his character that he thinks love absolutely has to be earned due to the nature of his relationship with shido; and well jax literally said it in her dialogue with pomni)

i love them, very tragic characters.

during this disability pride month i want to bring up the topic of alt text

i'm not blind, i only have astigmatism and i'm a glasses wearer, but scrolling through a disability pride tag reminded me just how important alt text is to the blind / visually impaired users

i'm guilty of not adding it before and also when i did add it to my images i realise it wasn't as descriptive as it should be. this isn't something we're taught in school or anything, which is certainly a choice - i personally think that the topic of alt text should be mandatory to be taught in all IT classes for everyone.

i'm starting the change to be more accessible and to add more alt text that is actually descriptive and i encourage you too, especially if you're a blog that posts a lot of images or even your art. it doesn't hurt anyone to write a descriptive sentense, and if you need a guide i recommend this video:
