[text] If you’re not coming over with food, don’t come over at all — Not Accepting
The incident that night was both an eye opener and anopportunity of getting a new friend. Myungsoo hasn’t spoken to her after thatday, not that he didn’t want to but the crime around the corner forbids himfrom doing so; it’s basically something that he cannot avoid, even if he wantedto. At times he feels like he’s doing everything that he has dreamed of, but atthe same time, it feels surreal to be living the dream that he always wanted hewas still a child, to be a detective that everyone could depend and trust—it isn’tthat he couldn’t believe that he made it, but as soon as he stood by himselfand as soon as he started fending over himself, he doesn’t know whether he’sstanding on the right path or he’s missing something. Myungsoo can never reallytell with everything that happened to him, he enjoys his work, there’s no doubtabout that, but he always felt as if he wanted something more than just beingthe man who he is now.
Putting that aside, with his head kept forward, he feltthe vibration over his thigh where his phone was kept. There’s an unreadmessage and as soon as he opened it, he flinches, it was as if he knew how thewoman thinks and how she demands over something that could possibly be thereason of a good night—food. Why does everyone think he’s a fast food chain?First it was Minho, and then Jaehyun, and now, it’s her. Not that he minds, hejust wanted to know the reason.
Myungsoo scratches the back of his head, what could be agood company food at times like this? It’s cold, and the weather isn’t exactlygetting better, and Christmas is around the corner. He isn’t sure whether that’sa good thing or a bad one, since he’s never a person who enjoys Christmas ashow a normal person would. He asked her if he could come over, it was one ofthose moments where he felt as if he needed to be a little outgoing, or rather,to connect with acquaintances and friends alike; he isn’t sure why out of allof the people he knew, he chose her, but he wanted to just go with the flow, with whatever he thinks that could suffice the moment.
[ msg. ] This woman. Fine, I’ll bring food.
The message was vague, and he wanted it to be like that, instead of anything else. He wanted to play with the sender, and he wanted itto be on his terms instead of hers. It was fun, maybe, to be a little playfulin such way, but he knew he shouldn’t really piss people off—especially women, when they could be vicious than anything in the world could bring. Myungsoostops in front of a fried chicken shop, particularly in front of the menu as hethinks of another retort that he could say to her.
[ msg. ] Food for me, by the way. None for you.
