Will forever hate Snail Games for buying ARK. An AI generated trailer for the new DLC, are you fucking kidding???? I'm an artist/animator, and have over 1000 hours in ASE, so to see one of my favourite games with an AI trailer is so disheartening.

Not to mention the possibility of losing all my saves and all mods now being completely broken no matter whether I bought the DLC or not.

In all fairness, the game has always been a poorly optimised dinosaur powerpoint, but that was fine because it made up for it with the depth and the gameplay. But just from the reviews the new map is completely unplayable anyway. The people saying this is intentional to make people move to Ascended are probably not too far off, it absolutely feels like something Snail Games would do

IF YOU HAVEN'T INSTALLED THE AQUATICA UPDATE FOR ASE YET

STOP THE DOWNLOAD

Go to library > ASE > Right click > Properties > Betas

Change Beta Participation from None to Preaquatica

Let the game download a small 20mb update

Your game and your mods will be untouched

(You can still do this if you've updated the game, but unfortunately this will force a second variant of the game to download, which will likely take up too much space on your machine)

I love how every new Ark thing that I see coming out just reinforces my belief that permanently uninstalling both Evolved and Ascended and removing them from my Steam library was the correct decision.
