My submission for ark's 2023 creature contest! Pontolis the giant walrus!

I picked Pontolis for a few reasons. We don't have many marine mammals, and definitely no pinnipeds. That, combined with its utility makes it 100% unique. Plus I just love pinnipeds.

Utility

Pontolis makes the perfect diving buddy with its saddle and pack bonus. The saddle holds an oxygen tank that, while mounted, provides continuous oxygen to the survivor. This tank holds more than a standard scuba tank and recharges at the surface when empty. The higher the rank of the saddle, the more oxygen it holds, with ascendant being the best.

Pontolis gets a pack bonus when one male is present in a group. On top of this, it is capable of a charged bite attack that not only does lethal damage but also gathers lots if resources.

Pontolis bond with their owners and are playful! By spending time each day playing and bonding, you will eventually unlock a friendship bonus that acts like an imprint, and this stacks on top of an imprint too.

To top it off its a fast swimmer and it's thick blubber is a good defense against the oceans many critters.
