My friend read 'The Sluts' by Dennis Cooper.
We talked about if we really should lend this book to our other friend. I think we should make her read the synopsis.
J said she was hooked on that book, but she don't want to read more Dennis Cooper.
J had really a lot to way this morning. "The scariest part is that people like that exist." (She meant the ones with vile fantasies (like snuff, for example).)
Yes, D should read the plot summary first. I just have this ability to talk without spoilers, and probably I didn't warn her enough. I suddenly remembered that she said her mother might like book like that (I was more focused on the part where you should read through reviews and chats, trying to understand where is truth and where is lie (cause everyone in this book are lying assholes), than the fact that it's literally about gay prostitutes and disturbing).
I also talked with J about me finishing Blood Meridian (as an audiobook and in my language). I explained a bit about that, and she said that she knows now why I liked 'The Sluts'.
"I now know why you liked 'The Sluts', everyone are assholes in this book."
And I shared with her this funny story about Murderbot Diaries being my first experience of reading the plot with loveable characters.
That's not all, now a bit more about my queues.
I refresh queues every 10 days. Books from queues "want to start" and "recommendation of a queer bookstore worker" are finished during this time period, so now I have to put something else on those honorable places.
"Compound Fracture" is something I wanted to try for a while. And "Hawk Mountain" was recommended by queer bookstore worker who likes horror.
Also, these are the books I should finish before I can go to this store again. And I want to finish at least Hawk Mountain cause I can't just go to this store and meet this nice person again without reading his recommendation.
But I want to do until December cause J wants to go to this store with me (she doesn't want to go alone).
