So, I did the meme recently. 

Ream, the workaholic [says “I'm awake!” with potato in hand] and Arladan, the magic nerd.

Here’s the thing: Dan teaches fencing (the duel kind) to a small class of third sons and rebelious ladies inbetween squad assignments. And they’re good. Partially ‘cause teachings of House of Toart has some very effective tricks, mostly because everyone of them care only about being good, not about reputation, so an other-world-runaway mercinary is okay, if he’s a skilled one.

On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?

Some coin, pocket knife, some stollen passes, a luck charm of some sort: maybe a cheep amulet, or a stone in shape of equilateral triangle (believed to bring luck by ilay) or half a coin (believed to do the same by imperium people)

In what situation was your character the most calm they’ve ever been?

Stargazing with Dan after celebration of Tarvenar (Harvest). They got pretty drunk, and danced, talked, talked and talked, and stars were so mesmerizingly beautiful. Dan braided his hair and recorded a memory shard for him (as he knew that what happened next morning would destroy this beautiful memories). When he was young and in love, and everything else seemed irrelevant. It till this day remains his most cherished memory. 

What does your character dislike in other people?

When people go back on their word, generally shallow people

Endless talking to people with no memorable features.

What does your character like in other people?

enterprise, strong personal code and ideas, ability to live life to the fullest and profound taste

Arladan

Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?

Death of all his relatives and clansmen (Elliars of Toart house)

He still considers it to be his fault. The night of assasination he ran off to meet his friends and dispelled the spell meant to register people in and out of the premises. Unnececary precaution, no one would dare to attack glorious house of Toart, why are we keeping it up anyway, right? So when assasins came all were asleep and practically no one resisted. 

And when he came home at dawn there were dead bodies everywhere and all his thoroughly planned life was shattered.

Kahary and Val know about it firsthand. Yuthar knows. All ilay nobility vaguely know that house of Toart no longer exist. But only Kahary know in details how it kept affecting Dan through almost half of his life. 

In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?

Same accident but a bit after it. He was in shock and didn’t really feel much first days, but terror slowly overwhelmed him when realization that all he knew about himself is gone and never coming back sank in.

Kahariya (an ort Lasar eyn) Ney’Khat

Born into noble house of Lasar, son of Inaril Eliar and Neyini Ney’Khat sometime in a previous life, now an immigrant in a strange land, striving for a new start.

He’s a sunshine who suffered enough. Extroverted, spiritual, tends to overthink things (which usually leads to impulsive decisions). Loves competition, easily provoked. Good at street fights, so very bad at card games. 

Also has a lifetime crush on Arladan, a keen understanding of ways of fire and a sassy (but super protective) twin sis.

Street fight society gave him several nicknames, one of which is Eyyat’Sha (Sha for short) - a fenix-like creature from ilay legends, or more like ‘fiery beast’.
