Aurora grew up spoiled. From the moment of her birth, it was no question that this girl was gonna break hearts and be something special. Pretty pink dresses, skirts, everything in place. A tiny small child with so many IDEAS of future swimming around her mind.

hiding in itchy sweaters, shoes off in front of the fire, the smell of old books, bitten nails, egg salad sandwiches, saying you don’t drink but still having a good scotch, always having buttery sweets to hand out, being everyone’s shoulder to cry on, panic attacks in the bathroom, waiting all night for the kids to come home, unnecessary glasses that are just there to look pretty, you are just there to look pretty.
this is isaac upton. he was born to a single teen mom in new york, and was always desperate for her approval. his mother was a lovely, but very misguided woman, often bringing home men at inappropriate times and in inappropriate situations. isaac often felt like he had to compete to get her attention, and it hurt. when he wasn’t trying to win her over to play his mom instead of play a party girl, he’d be fending for himself, finding that easier than waiting for someone to care for him.
he dealt with anxiety issues from very early on. he never had a lot of stability, people in and out of his house, no idea of when there’d next be food, no clue if he’d be comforted when he cried. isaac’s panic attacks got more and more intense, until someone at school started noticing he didn’t seem to be doing too well.
he was placed into the foster system at age 9, after a traumatic separation from his mother. sure, she hadn’t been providing for him well enough to thrive, but she was still his mother. isaac hadn’t felt safe before, and now definitely wasn’t going to feel safe again, moving from place to place every time he got rejected after lashing out at his new foster families.
his one escape was literature; the books he got, he got to keep. the stories an escape from his real world, a constant. it was no surprise he grew up to be an english lit professor.
he met the love of his life at 17 and clung to her like she was his whole world. they ran away together, grew up together, ended up fostering together. and that was important to him, the fostering. he never felt understood while going through the system himself, he needed to be that figure for others, if only to suppress the frustration he felt about the whole situation for years.
he loves his wife and his children more than anything, he really does. but he just feels like he can’t be anything but strong for them. he needs to be someone his wife can rely on, someone his children can talk to without worry. and in order for him to be that person, he needs his own issues and anxieties to take a backseat. and it’s hard. it’s like he’s putting on a mask most of the time.
he’s now found an escape, though. one he feels incredibly guilty about, but a habit he just can’t seem to kick. he’s been sleeping with one of his students, confiding them in how he really feels about his life, allowing himself to be vulnerable for once. he’s an awful person for it, he knows it too, but he can’t see a way out at this point.

mallory has never been the favorite child. nor have her parents ever been good at showing they care about her. her older brother is their favorite. their beloved son.
mal spent most of her life and childhood trying to be the perfect daughter, trying to get her parents to love her. trying to impress them anyway she could but each time she only got further disappointed. no matter how many straight a’s, no matter how many times she got honor roll. it never seemed to be enough.
she only further disappointed them when she realized she wanted to teach. and become a teacher. it was perfect she could teach and her love of children ? it became a perfect fit. and she felt like it was what she was meant to do.
they wanted her to make more money, amount to something more. not live on a teacher’s salary. become a doctor or a lawyer. make something of herself, and somehow didn’t even consider what she wanted. her dad is a dentist, mom a lawyer and her brother ? an esquire.
in her early twenties or around there. she likely had just graduated from college and got her teaching job & a down payment on her first home. she was so proud that she had done it all on her own. that she likely had even saved up for and maybe she even got a signing bonus. she always went over to her parents for sunday dinners, that sunday in particular she had gotten there to find a for sale sign in the front yard and in red letters sold. door unlocked and partially open, and the place completely empty. and her parents ? nowhere in sight.
unknown to her, her parents had moved to be closer to her brother and his two kids ( who live several states away ) and that had been the way she found out. ever since then that had caused trust issues, and slight abandonment issues. because if the people in this world are supposed to love her the most, didn’t then who is she supposed to trust ?
even now at 29 she hasn’t forgiven them for that, there’s the occasional phone call every few weeks. sometimes even once a month. but nothing that shows that they feel bad for what they did to her, or are even apologetic about it. what was the worst about it ? that when her parents did this. the rest of the family followed suit and promptly ignored her, wanted little to nothing to do with her. ignoring her, and her calls as well. which truly and utterly hurt her. beyond words. that she went from a tight-knit family to having no one.
leaving her with just her friends and those she cared about. something she had to accept, and it just wasn’t easy. she wished it had been that simple, that she could forgive them and forget what they have done.. but she couldn’t.
she has dated around a lot over the years, and in her early twenties--from hookups to dating someone for a few weeks. and then it became old. she started wanting more from relationships, only dating those she thought she could potentially settle down with and maybe start a family of her own.
then she met tba tate and her world changed for the better, she never thought she would find someone ever that cared so much about her and more TBA added later.
then she ended up moving in with the tate’s to help both brothers and to help out with the kids, then things became even.. more complicated she soon ended up pregnant and with her now nearing closer to her due date-- and also on maternity leave. she had at first thought something was wrong when she hadn’t gotten her period and then she heard the heartbeat. that was truly when everything changed. tears of joy flowed down her cheeks. right then and there she knew she wanted this baby. she’s always wanted to be a mom, and she already loved this baby from the minute she heard that heartbeat and seen that image on the screen.
the only other impossible thing she’s not sure who the father of her baby is.. not when she’s been with both tate brothers. nor is she sure on how she’s going to tell anyone that she’s not sure.
she wants to do everything right and she has been from the moment she found out, following everything by the book cutting caffeine out of her diet and following everything the utmost best she can. she just wishes the whole thing wasn’t so complicated, because despite it not being planned. mallory is so happy and so excited to be a mom.

willa was put up for adoption by both of her biological parents at birth, because they felt they’d be unable to give her the life she deserved. the case worker assigned to her case, adored her and perhaps even understood what that was like. ultimately decided they wanted to foster her until the right family came along. a year later the holmes-berry’s came along and adopted her, she got lucky not having to bounce from home to home and had one whilst the waiting game began and to be adopted right away ? more luck. she doesn’t know much but she’s thankful.
at two she danced to the beat of her own drum and to no music, she adored dancing and singing. she started taking classes and got into gymnastics being a hyper child and needing something to put her energy and focus into.
then she found her true calling as a teenager helping others. which is why she became an emt. and had her heart set on it. as soon as she graduated high school she took what she needed to. in order to do so then later decided she wanted to go back to school and become a physician’s assistant and it wouldn’t be cheap that was for sure. she decided one day to take pole dancing classes and became a quick-leaner, and loved it.
no surprise that at twenty-one she then became an exotic dancer once or twice a week, when she wasn’t being an emt or attending college classes that’s where she was and how she spent her time. it was enough cash that she started putting it towards college, not wanting to be a burden on her parents and wanting to find her own way to pay and so she did.
it’s not something she is embarrassed about per se and she feels it takes a lot of courage to become one of those dancers but it’s also something she’ll never tell her parents or siblings about. willingly at least. they probably know she’s working two jobs and is a college student but likely hasn’t said much else.
she doesn’t want to be a disappointment that is her greatest fear, and she feels her parents and siblings just wouldn’t understand. that it’s another form of dance and that she likes what she does. she gets to help people and she’s making some extra cash here and there, so that she can further help people in a few years.
she’s been making enough cash that she has her own place ( a small one, perhaps with roommates or a roommate ?? ) and decently new car, and is doing just fine. busy a lot of the time but that’s how she likes it.
i feel willa has always been independent even as a kid, despite being hyper she could keep herself entertained and not get into trouble. and at dance classes she kept mostly to herself, with a few friends here and there.

i think that’s about it for now ?? and here are some plots ideas ; best friends ( A MUST ) i’d even be game for a sibling being one her best friends. a roommate or roommates ( again ) could be a sibling or someone she has befriended. someone or perhaps even 2 people that have seen her being an exotic dancer and she has pleaded or begged them not to tell anyone esp her family. college friends, aka people she has met in college and gotten close with, maybe they study together ?? a healthy buddy, someone that she stays fit with maybe they eat healthy together and workout as she also has to stay in shape. flings/fwb anything of that nature is always welcome ! i don’t think she’d shy away from that kind of thing, in fact it’s encouraged.

HISTORY:

Her biological parents were from Hermosillo, Mexico.
She doesn't remember a lot about them, the only memory she has is about her biological mother singing her lullabies in Spanish.
In her face is a little scar, she only has blurry memories about how she made it.
The truth is that her biological parents and that scar are connected. They die in a car crash when she was only four years, Eliana only suffers level injuries that awful day.
She was adopted when she was 6 years old by the Martinez. At first, she wasn't really happy with her new family, even if two years had already passed since the accident. It was hard for her trust in her new family, but finally, she made it.
After that everything was normal until she grew up. The pressure to have friends and bean accepted by others hit her. All start with innocent things, haircuts, clothes brand, but the years past and the things to be part of the group was more dangerous: parties, stealing, and drugs.
Eliana ended up falling into the drugs. At first, all was fun, until it wasn't. All this happened last year. She was on a road trip with a group of friends, their days can be resuming in parties, boys (or girls) and a lot of drugs and alcohol. They don't know how it happens but in a moment of the night Eliana was on the floor, unconscious, her friends were able to get to the hospital on time.
A year later nobody knows about what happened. Eliana tries to stay away from drugs, but she smokes weed occasionally.
Right now she studies communications in college and works at nights in a bar as a bartender.
PERSONALITY:
Eliana is pretty much a hurricane. She’s full of energy and has a thunderous laugh. Maybe you can think for her background history that she is mean, but she isn’t actually Eliana is probably the funniest person u can meet.
She’s a very relaxed person, even if she has a lot of exams and projects she still keeps relaxed and happy.
Even if she doesn't look she’s actually a very mature person, but she doesn’t want to be serious, it is just not her style.
Despite being mature, Eliana is usually a very stubborn and impulsive person.
She may not give you the impression but she’s very clever and it shows in her grades.

katie will not answer to kathleen it’s katie, kate, or even kat. likely would blow you off entirely if you called her kathleen, it’s just her preference and what she ultimately prefers. doesn’t hate her name, but always goes by katie instead. feels it’s too formal for someone like her.
she’s kind of always been a wild child, a handful if you will--at seventeen with a fake id she got a watercolor humming bird tattoo on her ankle. more or less to see if a) she could get away with it and b) if the tattoo artist would spot that it was a fake.
then after that she likely started to hang with the wrong crowd to be talked into buying booze, ( again definitely not something this goodie two shoes would have came up with herself ) and this is only something she’s started doing recently. i feel like at first and the first time she did it. it was fun to see if she could get away with it and if they’d think it was fake ( again ). but now these so called ‘friends’ are taking advantage, and making her do it more often. likely afraid of getting caught themselves so they talk her into it doing it instead. but she’s afraid of getting busted. so peer pressure in other words and she also doesn’t want to look like a wimp. believe me she’s probably tried to get out of it. but somehow just.. can’t.
she’s always been more of a tomboy, so to speak and as much as she hates that phrase. it’s true. she would have been that little girl in a tutu or a dress digging in mud for worms, and not able to sit still for family photos. or making mud pies. climbing in trees and often jumping off furniture not being bad per se, but a handful. liking to play in mud and dirt and liking to see how long she could stay covered in mud before someone made her get cleaned up. also her clothes ! always stained as kid, sometimes even now but with grease more than anything else now.
she’s a college freshman taking engineering classes which to anyone else would be a lot.. but she has been loving every second of it ?? even if it may sound nerdy to others, but she’s always been passionate about non-sterotypical girl things.
she’s a sweet girl with a bad temper, and p much says what comes to mind ( not always ) but a good chunk of the time. especially when she’s comfortable around someone. can come off as standoffish but despite a friendly demeanor and smile, when she isn’t comfortable or doesn’t know someone. almost becomes shy in a sense. just because she’s tends to be guarded, around people she doesn’t know well.
has also been coloring her hair for a few years now, og has dark brown hair but keeps it golden blonde. as well as a short hair style ( picture olivia as tandy, that kind of short but cute hair style but one side is slightly longer than the other ) just because it’s easier to manage esp with upkeep of color. and having to buy purple shampoo. and because she does like getting her hands dirty, it’s probably much easier to deal with.
best friends ! this is always a must, esp for my kids and it’s always a favorite plot of mine.
