I do think everyone is suffering from Louis Is The Protagonist syndrome and expecting everyone to treat him differently bc hes The Most Special Boy but i just think this show isnt about that. Like sure Armand was going to orchestrate his death. Armand kills other vampires. We're literally introduced to him as he's executing a vampire. He does that. Why should he have believed that Louis would be different and should be spared the same fate. Yes he loved Louis but how could he have trusted Louis? He wanted to but Louis hadn't given him a reason. Etcetera etcetera.
