Tomboldon live most of their lives on the tops of mountains. Near the end, when they are ready to breed and die, they curl up in a ball and roll down the slopes. They use their shovel-like legs to dig into the dirt and create a nest, where then they lay their eggs and protect them until hatching. After a few months, the eggs hatch and the mother dies. The young have wings, and instinct guides them to fly back up to the peaks of the mountains where they will grow up.
