ARMOUR GROUP - VHS
Hidden in the darkness and smoke, ARMOUR GROUP played one of the best performances I saw of the year. Their setup consisted of mono synths, tape samples, vocals, and pedals, creating an intimidating environment. Wild power electronics.
Excellent vocal placement and considered minimal electronics displays how mature yet chaotic this Melbourne duo is. Another stellar set from the Boundary II night.
ARMOUR GROUP is the first VHS offering from VIDEO FLEX - housed in a crystal case, with an insert and sticker.

Here’s a track taken from the release titled Shoot To Kill. Sampling the legendary Australian dystopian futurist classic Turkey Shoot, this piece brings the set to a pulverising and celebratory conclusion.
The owner of the venue was afraid the smoke machine would let off the smoke alarms and did not want the fire brigade showing up and issuing him with a fine. He decided to tell me about it whilst filming - if you listen carefully you may hear it halfway through the set.
