I just want to expand on that, but the post before won't allow me to, so I have to write a new one.
I am part of a military family. I have a friend who was once in the army. I have very close friend who is dating a military man (heyyyy Killian). I respect the army, and I believe that everyone should.
And even if this guy's initial point wasn't about the army, the whole thing expanding into insulting it. And that's an attempt to soil the names of men who have sacrificed their lives so that others can live comfortably. They didn't sacrifice their lives so others could troll around the internet and piss on their name.
So I just want to say this basically, because I fear I'll tumble into a huge block of prose. Respect the fucking armed forces. Even if you don't agree with the war. Because the war is politics, it's the government, and disrespecting soldiers isn't an acceptable way to express your feelings towards that. They don't join the army because they necessarily agree with the war. They join it to protect, serve and honour their country.
I'm just gonna leave this with a quote a friend once told me.
"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." - George Orwell
...annnnnd now I can breathe.
